Exfoliating And Getting Pimples Right After

So does exfoliation help clear up pimples?

It can if the root of your breakouts is clogged pores or skin that does not slough off properly. If you have sensitive skin, exfoliation can irritate it and make pimples worse.

I have sensitive skin that doesn't slough off properly and the best treatment I've found is Arbonne cleanser & moisturizer twice a day and an occasional round of (3-4) light glycolic peels. The glycolic acid is mild and helps clean out my pores without the abrasiveness of physical exfoliation.

Should I pop the pimple or just exfoliate the whitehead of?

Make a hot compress.

Get a washcloth wet and heat it up (microwave is good). Let it cool until it is as hot as you can stand it. Fold it over a few times and hold it on the zit as long as you can or until it gets cold. Repeat the process. The zit will head up and pop by itself and start healing quickly without infection.

Works like a charm.

Best wishes for good health.

Will exfoliation get rid of my acne?

Exfoliation only gets rid of the dead skin cells left on your skin, it will help to stop the layers to pile up and help stop them, but it will not stop it completly. It's only a component in getting rid of acne. If you exfoliate your face too much, it can actually cause more acne because its trying to replenish the oils and cells the exfoliant took too much of. I exfoliate my face 2 times weekly, and no more than that or I can tell my face gets breakouts.

I really REALLY reccomend you use the Biore Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser and 2 times weekly use the Biore exfoliant. After a couple weeks, you could barely see ANY spots on my face. Biore did the trick for me, you should try it too!:)

Good luck:)

Should you exfoliate your face before steaming it?

This is what I used for another answer, it has advice
on what to do before, during, and after when you're
cleaning your face.

Try using the 'Clean & Clear Exfoliating Scrub". It's
sold at about any store that sells make-up, and is only three bucks!
Make sure you use it twice a day, every day; if you skip a wash, you're
face will break out like crazy the next morning... But if that happens, try
'Adult Acnomel'; it comes in a tube, and whenever you break out
or get problem zits, just dab it on just before you go to bed. When
you wake up, just rinse your face with water until it is all gone. You
may need to repeat for a couple days, and you have to be patient.
It might dry up your skin, or your acne, and turn them into scabs so
that they will come off and not leave scars. 'Adult Acnomel'
also works to reduce the appearance of pimple scars, too!

After you wash your face of the brown cream, and wash your
face with the exfoliator, make SURE you use toner; it takes
away left over make-up, oil, and face wash that you forgot
to get. (Be careful not to put any toner on your under eye, it will cause
them to get darker!) I would
recommend any toner by 'Clean & Clear', because
they are great for sensitive/oily/dry skin! It minimizes pores
drastically if you are really persistent with it. Rub the
toner in up and down motions all over your face, but start
off scrubbing a little where the biggest pores are (nose, cheeks, etc.) You can also use this not only for pores, but for arm, back,
and chest acne. It's really the best it can get. Just dab some
on a cotton boll and go over your entire face (neck and jaw, too if
you want).

Make sure you use the exfoliator and toner twice a day, EVERY DAY,
and don't skip any days! If your face gets dry, use
a tiny bit of 'Clean & Clear Morning Burst Shine Control Cream',
which takes care of shine, and dry/flakiness of the face, too.
Don't switch exfoliators, it will disrupt the balance of your
acne, which could result in red permanent bloches in extreme
cases.

Your acne should start to clear up in about a week. After that,
continue the routine, and be patient! Good luck! :). This should total
up to about fifteen dollars.

Use exfoliating scrub before or after acne wash?

I have Clean&Clear acne wash and Clean&Clear exfoliating wash. I have mild acne on my face and I love the exfoliating scrub. Which should I use first? Exfoliate then wash? Or wash then exfoliate?

Before I wash my face with either of those products, I use antibacterial bar soap.

Exfoliate before mask?

Yeah exfoliate first it removes all the dead skin cells even some black heads and dirt revealing bare skin, then when you apply the face mask it will get straight to the fresh skin where it can attack future threats!

i reallly need to go out get a new facemask, how have you found this homemade one is it as good as the ones you buy?

Why does my face break out after I exfoliate it?

Exfoliating will break you out, but dont worry. These pimples mean that your exfoliating is good. When you exfoliate, you break down a layer of skin, to let it refresh itself overnight. When you do this, the dirt under that layer of skin comes to the front to be cleaned and it formes a pimple but soon leaves. Those pimples are just dirt that was underneath your layers of skin and can finally be cleaned and soon later you will have a more clear face. Make sure the exfoliant is gentle though. You don't want to exfoliate pimples so much that they will be inflamed. Also, exfoliate only at night because that's when the skin will grow back. But yeah don't worry about the pimples, it is a good thing, even though i doesn't seem like it. Although if you get A LOT of them then it may be too much dirt because of your diet and those pimples are now being formed, which id also okay but you should eat "clean" foods in that case.
