Explain Volleyball In Detail

Explain volleyball 6-2 rotation!?

In the 6-2 formation, a player always comes forward from the back row to set. The three front row players are all in attacking positions. Thus, all six players act as hitters at one time or another, while two can act as setters. So the 6-2 formation is actually a 4-2 system, but the back-row setter penetrates to set.

The 6-2 lineup thus requires two setters, who line up opposite to each other in the rotation. In addition to the setters, a typical lineup will have two middle hitters and two outside hitters. By aligning like positions opposite themselves in the rotation, there will always be one of each position in the front and back rows. After service, the players in the front row move into their assigned positions.

This is my favorite rotation :)

Can someone explain (in alot of deatial) the 6-1 volleyball rotation?

do you mean the 6 2 or the 5 1 (you might have mixed them up together)

The numbers of the court starts with the right back which is one, then it goes counterclockwise, with setter(right front) being 2 middle being 3 outside being 4 outside back being 5 and middle back being 6

the numbers go counterclockwise but when you rotate, it goes clockwise

What is pool play in club volleyball?

A 'pool' is just the grouping of certain teams that will play each other in what's called 'pool play'. You play each of the teams in the pool and get points according to however many games/matches you win. Once the 'pool play' games are over, the team(s) with the highest number of points will play other teams from the other pools with a similar number of points. This leads into the quarter finals, semi finals, and finals :)

Can anyone explain the difference between volleyball shoes and regular athletic shoes?

volleyball shoes r made specifically for volleyball: it has good traction and grip. it is also very light weight for quick movement. usually it has a flat bottom part while running shoes have elevated shocks when you jump hurdles and stuff.
running shoes: are light weight but are made for running. in volleyball you dont run too much so running shoes arent realy built for volleyball.

if your new to volleyball i suggest buying running shoes bcuz there really is any need to spend more money for volleyball shoes when running shoes can be used for more than one activity. running shoes are also cheaper. but if your an experienced volleyball player i suggest volleyball shoes if you are commited to the sport.

Can someone explain the footing for a spike in volleyball?

If you are a middle (like me), and don't have very much time to transition off the net after you block, you do little step left, big step right left (swinging arms back during your right step). If you are an outside or opposite, and time to set up before the set came, you do little steps right left, big steps right left, swinging your arm back during your 2nd set of steps.

Explain the volleyball overlap rule to me in simple terms?

see if this helps...

_____________-net
a b c

d e f -server

if the player a is on the right side of player b before the server serves it is illegal. you must not cross any other player on your row. It doesnt matter about player a being on the right side of player d. But if player d was on the right side of player e...then it would be illegal. If your team has the serve, but you want to cross to another position, you must stay in your rotational spot until your server has served then you can go to any positon you want. If you are the setter (Player f) and you need to pull up a person in serve-recieve (Player C)you have to stay behind the person in the front row (player c) but cannot go on the left side of player e.

sorry if this confuses you more...
