What are some of the best Halloween costumes ever?

Mom is an artsy fartsy thing so all of our Halloween costumes were handmade and awesome.I was a morbidly obese nurse with hairy moles on my face one year.  Even had a huge syringe with fake blood all over it.Another year I was siamese twins with my neighbor. We wore a big pair of overalls with each of us fitting in one of the legs.  The next year we used those same overalls and I wore them upside down.  We stapled a scary bald mask (That looked kinda like Sanjay Sabnani) onto an upside down shirt.  In the end it looked like a creepy man walking on his hands all night. When I was very young mom made me a lion outfit that was pretty terrific.  All handmade and anything but adorable.  We weren't allowed to be adorable things. But my all time favorite Halloween outfit- in 8th grade I was invited to the cool kids Halloween party.  Mom and I decided I'd wear a joke costume.  I wore something similar to this. It wasn't a witch, though.  It was maybe something called a Blinkin?  Or a Plinkin?  I don't remember.  All I do remember is that it was hideous and mom and I thought we were the funniest things ever.HOWEVER, the people at the party didn't feel the same.  Instead, they all thought I lacked creativity.  They thought that junk costume was something I'd wear each year for Halloween.  They also thought I was POOR because those costumes were really cheap. It wasn't the first time I felt like an outcast and it certainly wasn't the last time.  Wish I could tell the 13 year old me that there would be a time that I'd find comfort in being the outcast.

What are some examples of a Halloween costume being used as cover for a significant crime?

Not sure the definition of serious crime ("more than spitting on the sidewalk"? "Murder and rape"?) but here's one recent one I found. This man wore a black Morphsuit under his clothes during five pistol-wielding hold ups. His skin colour and facial features were hidden, and he still was able to move around and see comfortably.Pistol-wielding Morphsuit man gets long prison terms for 5 holdups In case your wanting some movies to watch, this IMDb user has created a list:IMDb: Heist Movies with Disguises - a list by paswa17

What costume are you going to wear for Halloween?

OH honey.I had an amazing concept, but sadly, this year I won’t be able to celebrate Halloween because my friends will all be away. So, get this, it’s a double dark spooky ooky reveal ok? This is a costume in a costume. My first costume is this:Yaaas madre, it’s the ghost thing from Chihiro’s Journey. It’s an effective costume because: A) it’s literally just a black sheet with a white mask on it;B) everyone knows Chihiro’s Journey; C) It’s spooky! uuuuuuuuuuuuuuh black sheets are scary because you never know if they’re dirtyyyy uhhhhhhhhhhh; But wait, there’s more. My gay ass needs drama, mama. A black sheet wouldn’t be enough to satisfy me.So, I’m at the party (A gay party, obviously, because I can no longer inhabit among the straights). My black sheet obscuring all my sexy body and glamour. I am called to the stage, the voting for ‘Best Halloween costume - 2017” is starting. The host is asking the masses to clap for each costume present, whoever gets the louder reaction from the public gets the crown.I want that crown girl, I’m the spookiest person in this gay coven.I’m not going to lose to some cheap ass 3 dollar vampire mask. This isn’t Twilight. Not on this time and day, no sir.The host approaches me, the public goes insane, they love a mask that pulls on their nostalgic strings. But wait- What’s this? I’m spinning. Everyone is flabbergast. “What is he doing?”As I spin I remove my 1st costume and beneath it:GIRL, I’M BABASHOOK!!!Everyone loses their minds, some people fully die of heart failure, sirens are blasting and ambulances are arriving. Pants collectively and automatically drop to the ground, knees are shaking, girls are sweating, fans are waving in a gay manner, everyone screams, it’s complete and utter chaos.I obviously get crowned, not just because my costume is the best, but because I provided people with what they wanted: drama, mystery, betrayal, magic.Sadly, none of this will come to pass because my friends are assholes and don’t understand the magic of Halloween. I’ll probably just spend my night watching Hocus Pocus.

What does the Bible say about cosplaying (i.e. non-Halloween costume wearing), if anything?

There is nothing inherently anti-biblical about dressing up with a bunch of other people. Many of the considerations are the same as for other pastimes (see 1 Corinthians 10:31). Cosplay can be very expensive; a custom-made outfit can cost several hundred dollars. Most cosplayers make some or all of their costume, which can be extremely time-consuming. When travel, hotels, and convention admissions are included, cosplay can suck up time and money that could be used for better purposes.Christians must also consider some problems more specific to cosplay. Many of the women’s science fiction, fantasy, and anime costumes are very revealing—either skimpy or skin-tight. It should go without saying that Christian women should not chose a costume that is blatantly sexual (1 Timothy 2:9), and Christian men should not attend an event if they find such costumes distracting (Romans 13:14). Also, it is natural that putting on a costume encourages a person to act in ways he wouldn’t normally act; even if the costume makes the cosplayer unrecognizable, a Christian should always act in a way that glorifies God. Christians should also take care in what character they portray, staying away from anything based on demons or otherwise blatantly endorsing a non-Christian lifestyle.Cosplay is not all bad. The level of craftsmanship elevates many costumes to an art form. Cosplay can be a family activity, whether the parents support their kids’ hobby or the entire family dresses up for a Ren Faire. The cosplay community can be very supportive, as players swap manufacturing tips and encourage newcomers. There are even opportunities to share Christ with fellow players.Whether a Christian should get involved in cosplaying is a personal decision. Dressing up for a Renaissance festival or a steampunk ball is mostly harmless fun. Dressing as a demonic anime character or Slave-Leia at a comic-con, however, is not a good choice. As with any kind of entertainment, cosplayers should seek God’s will first and foremost.
