Radical equation 5radical sign -1/1024 - simplify?
5 * sqrt(-1/1024) 5 * sqrt(-1) * sqrt(1/1024) 5 * i * ±1/32 ±5/32 * i Edit: If you want the fifth root: fifthroot(-1/1024) = -1/4 = -0.25 Note that there are four other fifth roots, and they are all imaginary.

Simplify the following radical equation?
Express 5 sqrt (3x^3) - 2 sqrt (27x^3) in simplest form The answer sheet says it is -x sqrt (3x) but I don't see how they reached this answer I greatly appreciate your help. I realize that these types of equations are a pain to display without appropriate notation.
Help to simplify this radical subtraction!?
I'm pretty sure that √45 is simplified to 3√5 and √80 is simplified to 4√5...so the answer is √5
Simplify radical equation in fraction form?
-1331 is -11 cubed, so we can factor that out. 8 is 2 cubed, so we can factor that out. So now we have (-11 times the cube root of a^4) / (2 times the cube root of a) Let's rewrite the cube root of a^4 as a^(4/3). And we'll rewrite the cube root of a as a^(1/3). This now gives us: [-11 a^(4/3)] / [2 a^(1/3)] a^(4/3) divided by a^(1/3) = a^(4/3 - 1/3) = a^1 = a So it becomes: -11a / 2
A few radical equations. Please help?
Hi. I need help simplifying/solving radical equations. I just want to check my answers and correct my mistakes, so I'd appreciate it if you could "walk" me through the solution. 1. sqrt"135*b^2*c^2*d" * sqrt"5*b^2*d" I ended up with: b^2*c*d*sqrt"675*c" 2. sqrt"9y - 196" + sqrt"196" = sqrt"49" I ended up with: 9y = 245, although I'm pretty sure that's not the answer. 3. sqrt"x" * (sqrt"9" - 4/3) = sqrt"25" I didn't know where to start with this one. 4. Find the lengths of the triangle: The longer leg is: 1/2x + 11 The shorter leg is: x The hypotenuse is: 2x - 1 I started this, but I ended up dropping it because it was very difficult. Thanks in advance!
Help to simplify radicals, please?
1) 20 ± √484 / 6 is not simplified. √484= √4 * √121. The √4 is 2 and the √121 is 11. Multiply 2 and 11 and you get 22. 20 ± 22/6 = 20 ± 3 2/3 answer= 23 2/3 or 16 1/3 2) -3 ± √5 is simplified. 3) 8 ± √28 / -6 is not simplified. √28 = √4 * √7. The √4 is 2 and the √7 cannot be simplifed. 8 ± 2√7 / -6 divide the 2 by the -6 to get: 8 ± -1/3√7 4) 1 ± √25 / 6 is not simplified. √25 is 5. 1 ± 5/ 6 answer= 1 5/6 or 1/6 I hope I helped a little, sorry it's kind of hard to follow. Good luck on your test!
