Help Spilled Hot Tea On Macbook Pro

Spilled boiling hot tea on my macbook pro?

ok so im usually really careful with my laptop, its like my baby. tonight, i was bored so i made some tea. i was stirring it harshly and the spoon broke and the boiling hot tea went everywhere, including on my laptop keyboard. anyway, i freaked out and turned my laptop over immediately and wiped off the water. the laptop was fine for a couple of seconds then started to sizzle so i turned it off. my mom got a hairdryer and started blow drying it instinctually. all the water got out but it didnt turn on and im freaking out and crying because i dont want my mom to waste her money to buy me another one because of my stupidity. is there anyway it can be fixed?

I spilled peppermint tea on my macbook pro?!?

next time you have another water spill on eletronics ... turn off as fast as possible so that it dosent break ,dry it as much as possible , leave it in a dry, warm place for at least 24 hours , the longer the better up to 3 days depending on how much water there is ... then it should be fine ... if the initial spill didn't short circuit it , just make sure it's off and unplug as soon as possible

I spilled tea in the air vent?

My brother knocked a glass over in my room and I don't know what to do it's on the floor by my bedside table and my parents always warned me not to ever put anything over it or anything and now I'm scared and they will blame me and now I'm scared and don't know what to do will my house catch on fire/

I spilled a tiny bit of water on my Macbook, and some of my keys stopped working. Everything else is okay. Is there anything to do to fix it?

If they keys stopped working it is likely they were shorted out. I suggest opening keyboard viewer (System Preferences>Keyboard>Input Sources>Show Input menu on the menu bar, then select the Input Menu and select Show Keyboard Viewer), then press the keys down firmly and see if the screen lights up (try it with working keys first so you can see what is normal). If they don’t light up, then they’re likely dead.Replacing the keys on any post-Unibody MacBook requires replacing the entire top case which is a pretty in-depth repair. Basically the entire computer is built on the top case which contains the keyboard. So there isn’t a cheap or DIY solution to this. You might be able to find a cheap top case from a site that sells parts, but you’d have literally be able to disassemble and reassemble your entire MacBook and that’s a daunting task for even an experienced technician. The 2011 MacBook Air is especially challenging because of the way the airport antenna connects to the card (trust me on this one). They made it slightly easier on later models but the 2010 and 2011 models were a nightmare.Your best bet for a cheap, DIY solution is simply to not use the keyboard. Attach a USB or Bluetooth keyboard and accept the inconvenience until you can get it fixed or replace the computer. And learn to keep liquids far away from your computer.

Spilled soapy water on my laptop -- help!?

This is going to sound scarey!
The problem is dried out soap is sticky and one or more keys have got stuck down. The only way out is to wash the soap away. First remove the battery and then using a small paint brush work distilled water all around the keyboard until you stop seeing suds. Now with the keyboard facing down give the computer a good shake (Dont drop it) then let it dry naturally for 24 hours in a warm but not hot place. With even just a little luck everything will be fine again.

If it still requires a BIOS password after doing this you need to locate the bios battery and remove it for 10 minutes to reset the BIOS including the password.

Is the 2016 MacBook Pro more water resistant than most other MacBooks?

None of them.If you get a spill, as small as it is, you turn the machine off and hope that the water did not drip on a place that stay powered 24/24 as you can’t remove the battery.Once it’s off, you should bring asap at a competent unauthorized service centre (authorized service centre will ask you to pay for another motherboard instead because Apple don’t fix there own product and you will lose your data). You can see what water do the macbook in real time here :

My laptop touchpad will not work? I spilled water on it....?

I've had the same problem. But mine happens from cleaning the touchpad. So, I think the amount of water is minimal in my case. O.O I have a tablet pc, so when it happens I either use the pen or a usb mouse in place of the touchpad.

Is your touchpad listed on your system tray? If it is, it should show whether or not the touchpad "thinks" it's in use. In other words, when you move your finger across it, it should show the action in the system tray.

If there's water trapped under the touchpad, it will show action in the system tray even if your finger is not touching it.

So, here's two solutions. You can try the Fn+F7 to turn your touchpad back on. In most cases it should work. Or you could continue using your usb until the water dries out.

As long as the touchpad responds in someway when you touch it... e.g. goes in the opposite direction you point it... it still works. It just needs to dry out.

Good luck!! ^^

Why is my macbook making sounds?

Recently I spilt a tiny bit of tea on my macbook. I then shut it off, put my laptop in rice and I didn't touch it for three days. I tuned it on and nothing happened but once I used the power cord, which was attached to my laptop, it turned on. So my recent problem has been that I keep hearing this weird crackling sound coming from my laptop. I notice it when I have been on my laptop for a while or while I am video chatting (it happens when the laptop gets over heated, I think?) So does anyone know what the sound is that is coming from my laptop, it almost sounds like rice is falling somewhere inside of it but I don't know how that would be possible (it also sounds like clashing poker chips). Also, some of my keys are hard to press on because of the rice that I assume got into my laptop. Any advice?

I spilled milk on my laptop's keyboard, what should I do?

First, shut down and unplug the laptop. If possible, remove the battery. Electronics are much less likely to be damaged without power.Due to the organics and lipids in milk, the milk will most likely make your keyboard stick if not properly cleaned. If you are comfortable with it, you can attempt to remove the keys and clean out each mechanism yourself, however you risk damaging the keyboard further if you are not careful. If you do not want to do it yourself, take it to a professional. If you are attempting to clean the keyboard, carefully remove any excess milk off of the surface with a cloth. Take a picture of the key configuration so you don’t forget when putting it back together. Remove each key and rinse under water. You can use a cleaning cloth lightly dampened with rubbing alcohol to clean the keyboard base plate itself, but do not let alcohol to flow into the circuit board. Try to remove as much dried milk as possible from the circuit board and keys as possible. If any keys still stick, you can consider purchasing replacement keys at sites such as: Laptop Key Replacement | Keyboard Keys | Keypad Keys, Replacement Laptop Key, Keyboard Keys - LaptopKey.com, or $3.49 Replacement Laptop Keyboard Keys | QuikFix Laptop Keyboard KeysWhen you have removed any liquid and wiped down any mechanical components, put the keyboard back together and allow the laptop to thoroughly dry. You may put it in with a desiccant (the little “do not eat” baggies) or dry rice. Leave for at least a few days, but the longer the better before you try to power it up again.
