Help With Tablet That Plays Learning Program Abc Mouse.

Which is a better tablet for a 5 year old, Nabi 2 or a regular Android Tablet? Looking for learning apps,?

I have four Nabi 2's and one Nabi XD. My kids are 3,4,7 and 11 and they have had their Nabis' for over a year now and they love them. I can honestly say that the money that I have spent was well worth it. I have never bought anything for them that has had so much use. They use it for reading. I have reading apps and also books on the Nabi for them to read and Fuhu just recently added a Nook app to the Nabi that will only allow age appropriate books in Nabi mode. You can also watch movies and listen to music.

They also use them for learning different subjects for school. Since you are able to download the Amazon App Store and also 1Mobile Market and you can sideload apps from Google there are so many apps that you can select from. I have math apps, science apps, reading apps, money counting and time telling apps. These are all things that have been very educational and helpful for them! I just had my parent teacher conference for my daughter and she is way above average for her age and does extremely well for reading for her age and she is in 4K. Along with me having her read to me and I read books to them, I have also used the Meegenius app provided on the Nabi 2 which has 30 free books and words are highlighted as they are read and are very well narrated.

They also have a wings educational system which is State standardized and The Wings Learning System is the World’s first tablet based adaptive learning. It provides real-time analytics through N-SITE, you can track your child’s progress. Wings also adapts to each specific child. Its content is comparable to those other tutor companies out there that are charging up to $100 a month for this content. This had been something that my two youngest have enjoyed using and helps for me to know where they are at with their educational skills.

I could go on and on about his tablet and how it benefits my kids and tell you how much they love it was the best investment made so far for my youngest ones as far as education goes. I hppe that this helps :D Here is also a video on the time controls which is very cool feature for the nabi 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEiODtI5Hhw&feature=youtu.be. This is awesome and my kids love the time controls character and the song that he sings!

Help with tablet that plays learning program abc mouse.?

I am looking for a table that plays the learning program for kids called abc mouse. Does anyone know of a specific tablet that does this? According to the website the tablet needs to support flash, but I am reading online that most tablets do not.

Is abc mouse great for my child????

First, I would reframe "unwilling to learn" as "not developmentally ready to learn academic concepts". Five years old is very young, some kids are able to handle academics and just have a people-pleasing personality, many others are simply not ready to understand academics that young. There are many studies coming out of Europe that show waiting for formal education until age seven years actually makes kids "smarter" because by seven years old their brains are actually developmentally prepared to make the connections that need to be made for true learning and comprehension. Instead of sitting a five year old in front of a computer or tablet screen, get her engaging with the world. Show her places in real life where numbers and letters and colors and shapes and other concepts matter--- at the grocery store have her help you count six apples or whatnot. Give her a magnifying glass and take a walk around your neighborhood and look for patterns and shapes in nature. Read to her, ask her comprehension questions about the story, "What was the character's name?" "Where did the family go?" Ask her to make predictions about what will happen next, "Do you think they will find the treasure?" These things are much more valuable in the long run than trying to force rote memorization.

What are you mostly concerned about when your young kids (1-6 years old) are spending time with a tablet or a smartphone? Is there anything that bothers you apart from their eyes?

Not sure what you mean “apart from their eyes.”If you mean, anything bothering me other than what they're seeing, then no.I'm really only concerned with what they're seeing. I have an 11 month old, 5 year old, and 6 year old. All my kids fall within the range you've set. I tried giving them free access to play with their tablets. I set time limits, and only loaded programs onto them that I was sure were safe. The problem I found was nothing was safe. Most games now require internet access so they can load their ads. These ads provide links for kids to click, and within seconds they've click click clicked their way to an inappropriate place. Video sites have been compromised. I've seen very graphic YouTube videos my kids had watched on channels that looked almost identical to the children's channels they were supposed to be watching. YouTube is useless at filtering them, they even “suggest” these videos to kids. I could go on.Now my kids rarely play with tablets and phones. Not because I won't let them, but because they're only allowed to play with programs that don't require internet/WiFi signal. Yes, I have to purchase them mostly, because they are ad free. But they aren't the “fun” games the kids really want, and I won't buy several new games per day like they were used to receiving when we downloaded free games (that contained ads). So now the tablets go mostly unused. I don't allow them to touch my phone anymore.I've found an alternative recently. For the last month my two oldest kids have been obsessed with ABCmouse.com. No ads, nothing to click that takes them to other sites. Allows them to watch and listen to music and videos they love, to learn, and to play around on the computer. They have an app for tablets too, but we haven't tried it yet.If you're going to give them an internet signal, you have to watch them. I don't even mean be in the same room, I mean watching. Because they may see something very inappropriate for several minutes before you notice.
