What's the best Australian city to live in?
Personal opinion: Forget about Sydney, the cost of living there is just way too high, and try to buy a house there, you might not get any good deal. People tend to be 'colder', but the weather is rather warm. Compare to Massachusetts, Sydney might be 'tropical' all year round. Even in the winter, it still gets up to 65 degree in the day time, although it might drop to 45 at night. Summer: hot hot hot. But if you like warmer weather for a change, Sydney or Brisbane is the way to go. I think Melbourne is a good place to live. The weather is generally cooler, and it still has a very nice atmosphere, people are friendly, lots of activities. Hey, how about Brisbane!!!. It is definitely not a country town anymore as some suggested. It is the 3rd largest cities in Australia. Enough people to make it festive. Not too crowded to squeeze you breathless during peak hours. Lots of hip suburbs (sometimes better than the city itself). And if you choose the right place, you can have a nice river view right from your apartment! Brisbane really has integrated the river into their daily activities. Hard to explain, but it is awesome!

I think you're correct that Australia isn't that hot of a country as it's now getting to be winter down there. Maybe you just visited at the change of seasons. They do that down there you know.

Hi I live in Melbourne (Australia) and I was wondering would I be (and if so, where) be able to purchase gift cards for sites such as Amazon or Ebay. I know they sell cards like itunes and gaming cards at stores like 7/11 but I have yet seen any of these for sites like amazon and ebay. Cultural differences between Glasgow Scotland uk and Melbourne Australia?
Well I live in Melbourne but have been to Glasgow before. Melbourne is a very multicultural city, artsy, cute laneways, good restaurants. It doesn't have the history of course which is why I enjoy visiting the UK so much because it's very old fashioned. Lifestyle is very similar. Most young people drink quite a bit, go to the local pub on the weekend. Enjoy shopping, going to the movies, outdoor activities etc. It's a friendly city like Glasgow, people are always willing to help you out. Weather is overcast but I'm sure you're used to that, haha.
