What are the differences between skinny and super skinny jeans?

Generally speaking it’s how the jeans fit in the legs, the size of the leg openings and, to a lesser extent, a slightly trimmer cut through the seat and thighs. Also, as Adam Pringle pointed out, the amount of stretch built into the denim typically increases the “skinnier” the jeans fit. For instance Levis 511’s ( a “skinny” jean) are 1% elastane whereas 510’s (a super skinny jean) have 2% elastane. Some of the more radical skinnies have 3% elastane or spandex. One key difference in skinny vs. super skinny is how snugly the legs of the jeans fit your legs. The legs on skinny jeans tend to fit close but still have some “wiggle” room in them; they don’t have as radical a leg taper as super skinny jeans. If you have some developed calf muscles then the legs typically make slight contact at the calves. The leg openings are typically 7″ in diameter for skinny jeans and there is room at the end of the legs.Super skinny jeans have a more radical taper to the legs and they will fit your legs comfortably snug. If you have some built calves …runners legs …super skinnies can show them off quite nicely; they are not just for the uber anorexic crowd. The leg openings are typically 6.5″ in diameter on super skinnies which means the legs will fit snugly all the way to your ankle and top of foot.As far as the waist, thigh and butt there’s not much difference between the two styles. The super skinnies might be just a tad bit leaner in their fit but nothing radically different from regular skinny jeans. Also realize there are minor variations in cut and fit between different jeans makers. Whereas 510’s are considered Levis super skinny style, they fit a bit looser in the legs than Hollister’s or A&F’s super skinny jeans. The best way to tell and feel the difference between the styles is to try them on. Try on some 511’s and 510’s or Hollister Skinny jeans and Hollister Super Skinny jeans (or A&F). I like both styles and have example of each in my jeans drawer.

Do some jeans make your butt look bigger?

The answer to your question is yes. I will list things that make a person’s ass look bigger, smaller and all sorts of other things.Jeans with big back pockets will make a person’s ass look bigger. However, you also have to be careful with that because if the back pockets go under your ass and nearly onto your legs the jeans can then give a person’s ass a saggy look.Jeans that have the two back pockets spaced the furthest apart make an ass look bigger as well. What I mean by this is jeans that have the left back pocket as far to the left as they can and the right back pocket as far to the right as they can with a bigger gap between the two back pockets.Ligher coloured jeans will give a person’s ass a bigger look as well. So light blue jeans are a good colour for this. Dark colours like black etc will make a person’s ass look smaller. Then of course there is many other things such as jeans that give a person’s ass a lifted look. Jeans with the back pockets well up on the person’s ass will tend to give the person’s ass a lifted look. When it comes to shape lighter coloured jeans like light blue and the shape of the yoke on the jeans will give the person’s ass more shape. Dark coloured jeans like black etc tend to make a person’s ass look more flat. This is because lighter colours contrast shape better than dark colours.Jeans with no pockets which refer to women’s styles help give shape as well.Smaller pockets on jeans will make a person’s ass look smaller.Jeans with the left back pocket closer to the centre and the right back pocket closer to the centre with the least amount of space between the pockets will make a person’s ass look smaller.

Do I have too many jeans?

Okay. I really like jeans so I keep buying them! ButI think I have like 40 pairs now. Is that too much? Because I don't wear shorts or capris or anything. All I wear is jeans. And they aren't all the same color either. I have colored jeans, light wash jeans, Black jeans, medium wash jeans, and a lot if dark wash jeans. But I feel like I have too many. Do I?

How do you prevent Levi jeans from shrinking?

The best way you can *minimize* shrinking is to wash the jeans in cold water ...cold wash and cold rinse. In fact, that is exactly what it says to do on the care label sewn into the waistband. I use liquid fabric softener in the wash cycle versus the dryer sheets.Where jeans will experience the most shrinkage is in the dryer. Here's the important part with drying: dry your jeans on *low* heat and use the "Delicate/Colors" setting for time. Chances are your jeans won't come out completely dry so you can reset the timer a bit and toss them in the dryer or remove them and let them air dry. Dry your jeans inside out as this will help minimize wrinkles when you  pull them right side out. You can wash them inside out if you want to  stave off the wash fade ...don't know why this works but it does. I do this with all my jeans and I have great success in minimizing shrinkage to almost zero.
