looks like purebred shepherd, if it is a male probably 90 lbsish,, keep him lean,, you will want to protect his hips from becoming dysplastic,, although many times it is genetic. risk you take with a dog from unknown lineage

Now if you don't care about all that, you can get one for as little as 150$. The best in breed go from 500 to 1000$. If you don' t plan on breeding or putting the male up for stud, you don't have to be picky. They are wonderful dogs with a great temperament. They love to cuddle. I got my first two at age 8 and I was 21 when they passed. My dad and grandfather both bred Bostons. It was not your typical kennel. They were all in the house, in the beds, on the couch or in whatever comfortable spot they wanted.
Can you mix a Chihuahua and a Doberman?
A Chihuahua b*tch would not physically be able to safely carry let alone whelp a litter of Doberamann cross puppies. If the Chihuahua was the stud dog, then yes it would be possibly, but it does beg the question what functional purpose would be served by the mating? None? Then it shouldn't be done. End of story. The pups appearance, temperament & characteristics would be a genetic lottery. The only predictable thing about a cross bred litter is its genetic unpredictability.

if you can work out some of the breeds in the dog that could be a guide but then if it was a smaller with a larger breed you have a 50% chance of either. i have heard that if you look at the paws it will give you a bit of an indication the theory being that the dog grows into his feet. not sure how true this is but i have used it as a guide and it seems to work. good on you for going to a shelter i have had most of my dogs from there and they make beautiful, loving and loyal pets. sometimes i think they are grateful for being loved. edit. there was only 1 answer when i started this now there are 12 and a lot say the same 'paws'
