How Can I Lose Weight And Gain Muscle At The Same Time.i Just Started Lifting

Can you lose weight and build muscle at the same time?

Yeah Scoob, you can absolutely lose weight and build muscle at the same time. I dropped from 230lbs to 200lbs in a period of 3 months by running, lifting weights, and eating smaller meals. You MUST do the exercise and diet together if you want to see results fast. It CAN be done.

By running and/or doing cardio, you will burn fat and build muscles at the same time. Adjust your diet by cutting out all fatty or processed foods. Eat only healthy, fresh foods. If you stay disciplined and stay focused on the diet and exercise, you WILL see results fast and love the way you feel! Take care and good luck!

Can you lose fat by lifting weights or is cardio better?

The “experts” are all over the place on this question here on Quora and you will get enthusiasts who will say that “cardio” (I hate that term, it’s “aerobic” exercise) is useless and others like myself who agree with the real authorities. The real authority in this case being the National Institute of Health or NIH. The NIH has stated flatly, after a great deal of large-scale trials and testing, that aerobic exercise is the most efficient form for weight control and general health, and that specifically, HIIT training (High Intensity Interval Training) is the most efficient form of aerobic exercise. If you look around at folks who are dedicated cyclists, runners, swimmers, cross-country skiers, rowers, etc., you will not see too many who are overweight. Something would seem to be going on there.Of course diet is important. If you cycle 100 miles a week and yet live on twinkles, you’re not going to accomplish much. And of course it’s true that most forms of aerobic exercise don’t do much for your upper body. So, if you want to maintain strength, bone health, and the like, then some form of resistance training is excellent to add to the mix.I’m 70, and I do a full-body lifting routine twice a week. The rest of the time, I ride my bike.

How should I exercise - strength training or cardio in order to lose weight and gain muscle at the same time?

Gaining muscle on a weight loss diet is not only possible, it should be expected for most people on a serious program. As long as the stimulus for muscle growth is carefully designed and customized, your body will find a way to get bigger. Your body is not the enemy. It is a miraculous survival machine that adapts to the stress you impose on it. When you understand it, you can control it.So to answer you, YES, you can gain muscle and lose fat and here’s how:Constant influx of protein. 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight per day taken 5-6 equal portions spaced evenly through out the day – otherwise your nuclear power plant will have to turn on between meals and burn muscle, you don’t want that.Consume enough calories to keep your body from thinking its starving but not so many calories that you gain fat, 10% under your TDEE is a good value to use. Make sure to set your goal in step 6 to “10% calorie reduction”Proper Nutrition.  Make every calorie count! eat unprocessed or minimally processed foods, eat lots of fresh vegetables, eat less than 30% of your calories from fat and eat only good fats like olives, nuts, and avocados, eat whole grains and low G.I. carbs – no simple carbs like sugar, alcohol, or white flour.Hard, consistent weight workouts plan appropriate for you.2-3 times cardio, 30-40 min. Cardio will not burn muscle, it will help you gain muscle while losing fat at the same time. Many beginners to fitness ask if they should lose their fat first or start lifting to gain muscle first, the answer is that they should do BOTH at the same time!!! Especially for beginners, it is very easy to lose fat and gain muscle at the same time!

Will NO Xplode help me lose weight while gaining muscle?

So I recently started going to the gym trying to lose weight and gain some muscle. My cardio is basketball, then after a couple games or drills, I go to lift. Now i am overweight, when i started i was 230 then after a month or two i dropped to 210. The whole time i did the same thing. Basketball lift, there were times where i would just play basketball, but i lifted at least 3 or 4 times a week. Right now i just started taking whey protein, but i am considering switching to NO Xplode. If i continue to do what i do, basketball and lift, and take NO Xplode will i see weight loss and muscle gain? Also when should i take it? Before lifting, or before basketball? Thanks in advance.

Should I lose weight first then build muscle?

Eventually as you continue weight lifting, your muscles build up which then replaces the fats. As a healthy routine, it's best that you do your cardio and strength training on different occasions. This is so that you have enough energy to fulfil your goal, in short, so you can maximize your cardio and strength training. Do it consistently, alternating each days, you should see results esp if you complement it with eating the right kind of food. Talk to a fitness instructor or health professional. Get their opinions, you'll surely find something that will help you. Read the resource below, there may be some things that's also stopping you.

Is it possible to lose and gain weight at the same time? I want to lose fats on belly and abdominals by cardio or exercising these body parts. But I try to gain weight everywhere else by lifting. Should I concentrate on one goal?

You can’t lose and gain weight at the same time. That’s like taking a glass of water and saying can I add and remove water from it at the same time.I think what you are trying to do is lose fat and gain lean muscle. If this is your goal, then yes it is possible, although not very easy. What you are trying to do is to do a body recomposition. There are two ways of doing this:1. Bulking cutting cycles - with this method, you would rotate between being on a bulk phase (calorie surplus) and build as much muscle as possible and then go to a cutting phase (calories deficit) to lose all the fat that you gain during the bulking phase.2. Lean bulk - with this method, you would be on a bulking phase although not very aggressive. That is, your calories would be just slightly above maintenance. This method ensures the fat gain is kept to a minimum while you gain muscle. Both these methods can help you achieve your goals. It is upto your personal preference which one you choose. The 1st method is known to be quicker, but the cutting phase tends to be challenging for some. The 2nd method is easier in the sense that there is no major cutting phase, but this method is slow and needs a lot of patience.Hope this helps!

Do you HAVE to lift weights/build muscle to lose weight?

You don't have to lift to lose weight. But with that said you would be pretty stupid not to. No pun intended. If you don't lift weights your body will turn to muscle mass after it runs out of its daily supply of food for energy, then it will turn to stored carbs, and then and only then it will turn to body fat. So if you don't lift, and you go on a diet, you are going to make yourself weaker, as your body will go after any free muscle and turn it into protein from energy, and from here this will lower your metabolism greatly, making it hard to lose any weight at all.

In other words you will lose weight quickly for a couple of weeks, and then you will hit a plateau, and probably won't be able to do much to overcome it, since without muscle a guy just threw his biggest advantage to losing body fat.

Oh and one more thing once you hit this plateau you will eventually give-up since nothing will really change no matter how hard you work to lose weight. If on the other hand you’re 245 and really bulky then by all means just go on a diet, and you will lose muscle very rapidly without working out. However, I doubt this is the case.

I can't build muscle or gain weight?

Ok, if my name shows up as Becky, thats not me. Im on my moms account. Ok so let me give you some background info. I'm a 15 year old skinny guy who can't gain muscle or fat! I'm 5'7 and 105 lbs. i feel unhealthy and worthless because i'm never satisfied with my chest, arms, amd legs. I got a gym membership last year and worked out for about a month along with eating 2500-3000 calories a day. I quit after a month because all I had gotten was a pot belly. I try to eat as much protein as possible and I lift dumbbells for around 10 minutes, and do pushups for 10 minutes every day. I'm not seeing any results. I don't like to admit but I'm desperate to gain weight/muscle. I feel very unhealthy. At only 105 lbs, you can see my hip bones and a few ribs. I eat a ton of food though, it just doesn't seem to do anything but make me have a pot belly. I need help. Any suggestion is appreciated. I just want to be comfortable with myself and be able to wear shorts and a tanktop like other guys this summer. I want to be able to walk up to girls and talk to them without them just looking down at me, and walking away. Please help! I'm literally desperate. And if you're going to tell me to love myself for who I am, you might as well not waist your time. I get bullied constantly for it so you won't be helping. Please anyone just I need some advice! Thanks! -Colton
