How Can I Make My Stuffed Animal Soft Again

How do you make a stuffed animal soft again?

My younger friend brought two pillow pets to my house. One big one small. They are both pigs. She put them on the ground and then accidentally spilled lemonade on them. We didnt want them to get crusty so we put them in a pillow case, safty pinned it shut and put it in the wash. We dried them too. When we were done drying them though, the fur was curly and they weren't very soft. Brushing them took the curls away but they still arent soft. how do you make them soft?? PLZ HELP

How do i surface wash my kids stuffed animals?

~~Use a gentle bar soap (like Dove) or even a small amount of baby shampoo in a bowl of water. Dip a clean cloth in your mixture and scrub away just as you would do on your own skin. Take another clean cloth and dampen it and rinse the animal with clear water. You can blow dry it to make it fluffy and soft again, or just let it air dry. They come out nice and clean and smell really good again!~~

Wash stuffed animals without losing softness and fur?

I have a polar bear stuffed toy from Aurora like this: http://ak.buy.com/PI/0/500/231236738.jpg

The fur is slightly long and very soft! However, it's becoming very dirty and I wanna know how anyone can advice washing this toy? The label says that it is made by "New materials: Polyester fibers and plastic pellets", and is "Surface-washable".

My greatest concern is that the bear would lose its fluffiness and end up with short stubby furs, like my other toys after it has been washed :(

Any advice???? Thanks!

How to fix a burnt stuffed animal (Please Help!)?

I have a stuffed animal..... it is a webkinz, even more specific, it is a signature. Anyways.... I used to have a bunk bed that some of my webkinz sat on and I had a lamp that sat on the floor. It was a touch screen lamp and was at its lowest setting. Somehow my webkinz signature fell of my bunk bed and landed into the lamp. I woke up and seen he had fallen and a part by his eye was touching the light buld. I lifted him up and seen a red mark on part of his black circle and on some of the white of his fur. (He is a Bull Terrier) I didn't know what to do! I tried to use fabric paint on the white part.... but it dosen't look that good, and dosen't feel soft. I was wondering if I could sew material over, but I don't want it to look patchy! If anyone could help, it would be much appreciated!

I have a huge issue with cleaning up a stuffed animal.?

I was able to clean old stuffed animals with Oxiclean, a bowl of warm water, and a white rag. You just dissolve some Oxiclean in the water and surface clean the fur. Be sure to wring the rag out well so you don't get the animal too wet. Rub the fur and work in small areas. When the water in your bowl gets too dirty, swap it for new. Once you're done, repeat the procedure with clean water to remove any residue. Cleaning her like this should make her soft again and might help with the matting.

The animals I used this on were stored in a house with 3 smokers for about 20 years. Even the white ones (which were horribly yellowed by nicotine and had some odd stains) came out pure white. They also became fuzzy and soft again.

Now my animals were all pretty short-furred so I'm not sure what to tell you about that. Online I see a lot of suggestions to use a lint roller to remove any lint so you might try that.

Good luck and hope this helps! :)
