How Come Artists Aren

Can anyone name me any R&B artists that aren't mainstream?

Most R&B artists of the 80's & 70's dont have the over sexed lyrical content that the artists of the 90's & beyond have,....so check out an "oldies" station to hear some REAL GOOD R&B.

But on the current tip - check out Eric Roberson. He has about 4 albums so that should be plenty to choose from. Amel Larrieux, Ledisi, Algebra, & Dwele are also great artists. Younger R&B artists are a tricky bunch - I think the pressure is on for them to be "sexy" so there isnt much to choose from but Bobby Valentino, Nivea, Solange, seem to have some ok tracks.

Why are artists so troubled?

You could also say that yoga attracts a lot of weirdos, or that computer programmers are usually a bunch of misfits. Those are generalizations but they're sometimes true.“Troubled people” as you call them, that are doing art, are in fact trying to find a way out and to cope. Think about it, would you rather them just be a mass murderers? Eminem has enough rage that he probably could be one. But he choose, and he was blessed with an incredible talent, to turn it all into art. His life was bad enough that many would give up and just go with the flow.On the other hand, people like Robin Williams suffer from an illness, a disbalance within them. Again, art is the way of coping. You make the world more beautiful and you put smiles on people's faces - that makes you feel good, and at least for a while, you don't feel shitty and like you want to kill yourself.Art can have a great healing power. You confront your demons, face them. You share them with the world and then a lot of other people who are going through the same thing connect to what you're putting out there, and you don't feel as alone and isolated.Art, by its nature, allows people to be who they are and express that. For many, that is the only way to be who they are. As you probably know, we don't live in a very free, tolerant and open-minded society. Quite often it is quite the opposite. There are people who deal with this world very well, others not so much. You can say that some people have emotional, spiritual and ethical needs that this world does not provide. They turn to art.You can say that art is an escape from reality, but it is also a vision of a different reality, whatever that may be. By telling how things could be, artists are often instrument in healing the society. That brings us to yet another function of art that is connected to “troubled people”. Namely, most troubled people are troubled because something hurtful, traumatic or unfair has happened to them. They deal with that by calling it out, through art. Their work demands that society starts a discourse about these matters, to talk about it. Art is like the megaphone of the troubled and misunderstood and wronged. That's why they go to it.Of course, this doesn't mean that every artist is unhappy and that art’s only function is to right the wrongs, but it is cry important part of art.I hope this answer helps you.

What are some myths about music artists that aren't true?

That the process of learning an instrument, including singing, is some magical thing that you could learn in a week or so, by digital means. We’re in an age where all things are done fast. Instant coffee, instant noodles, lunches or dinners that are microwaveable, fast lane for this and that……well, got news for you. Music is not an instant thing. It takes years to be good at it, and have the HEART and PASSION to play pieces of world renown composers of the past.Another is, people think Music is something that is easy to learn, therefore when these musicians are asked to play for weddings conventions, concerts……pay is limited, unless you’re like Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey or Beyonce. They consider people taking up Music as a group of people who don’t have much of a brain. Really now!!!Just to give you a bird’s eyeview of what goes on in a conservatory, since I spent years and years there……once we finish our minor subjects and are left with our majors to deal with, you spend no less than 8–12 hours a day practicing for your graduation recital. And that is the minimum amount of time. Pianists require much more time, since piano concertos are soooo challenging. Ok, now let’s go back to what voice majors do. We learn 4 other languages, at least 2 semesters per language…..so aside from Tagalog and English, we are required to learn Italian, Spanish, French and German. Why? So we could sing operas well and pronounce the words proficiently. And of course, are the countless performances we do. We perform, because we love to. And that my friend, requires an extreme amount of courage. How many people could stand in front of thousands upon thousands of people, strong lights on you from all angles, not to mention photographers flashing their cameras away, and you’re supposed to remain focused on your songs. Music is easy, huh….lol…let them try it. Let’s see what happens to them in a few months. So in my opinion, these 2 myths are definitely not true. Playing music like an instant thing, and it’s so easy that musicians are not paid well oftentimes. Such fools.

How do artists express their emotions through art?

My art forms are music and writing, I love to sit down and just create a new thing that sounds different from the thing I made yesterday, write a story, or write song lyrics.I’d say the emotional influence is subconscious. It’s less apparent in the instrumental, where however I feel that day might have only a subtle impact on the notes I wrote out. But when it comes to words, oh boy.Anything expressed artistically in words is a window to the fucking soul. I’ve been embarrassed to share my music with people because of the content of my lyrics being very very personal. But there’s just no other way to do it. Writing words just to write will sound inauthentic, and it’s hard to nail down why, but people can tell. When I first started writing raps, my friend heard what I was doing and encouraged me to “just be real.” I was talking about things I’d never experienced or really felt, and it showed to him. It’s like the episode of Futurama where Bender wants to become a country music star: he writes all these songs, but people don’t like them because he hasn’t lived any of these experiences. So he goes out into the world and lives out the exact plot of the songs he’d written previously, and when he gets back, people love the songs. Authenticity is huge.So I rap about the real influences and issues in my life. Maybe they aren't mainstream topics, but it’s just what comes out. You can only do what you know, and I know myself pretty well. At this point, music and writing are such great subjective outlets that I’m not sure how I’d express my emotions sufficiently without them. Creating is how you express yourself. There really is no other way to make art but for it to come from the heart and express (and even expose) yourself.

Who's fault is it that artist albums aren't selling like they used to?

I think both record label greed AND listener greed are to blame.

If the record label makes a crappy album with 2 decent tracks and don't release singles and people won't spend $17 on it at the mall once word is out that it sucks, then that's their fault.

BUT

If the whole album's available for legal download and you only like "3 good songs" and don't pay for those but download the whole CD anyway...now you really are taking money from them.

If you want to protest crappy albums either don't buy them or ONLY buy the singles that are decent. But downloading the whole thing makes it appear to the label like the artist isn't as popular as they thought..making it more likely they'll get cut. Also, at least with new artists usually they have to front the studio time fees and they don't start getting paid until they've recouped that for the label. If you want new blood in the game, downloading and boots are a good way to kill that. (I'm speaking only of "pirate" CDs...copies of stuff you could buy in a store...I don't think someone buying a boot of Eminem live from a fan recording is the same thing. Interscope wasn't sellling that live album anyway.)

What artists that aren't LGBT do lesbians commonly listen to?

I like some Gaga, some Rise Against, Fall Out Boy, some Rachael Sage (she’s weird, though)… We don’t all listen to Teagan and Sarah. Well, exclusively. I love Teagan and Sarah. On my iTunes, and not LGBT:Alkaline Trio, Amber Pacific, Ariana Grande, Automatic Love Letter, Billy Joel, Blink-182, Broken Social Scene, Capital Cities, Carly Rae Jepsen, Chvrches, The Cure, Daft Punk, Demi Lovato, Dev, Ellie Goulding, Evanescence, Fergie, Fritz and the Tantrums, Imagine Dragons, Jessy J, Jimmy Eat World, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, The Killers, Lindsey Stirling (super not-gay), Lonely Island, Marina and the Diamonds, Maroon 5, Mayday Parade, Metric, Owl City, P!nk, Panic! at the Disco, Pitbull, R. City, Rihanna, Say Anything, Senses Fail, Sia, Sum 41, Swedish House Mafia, Taylor Swift (much as I wish she was), Tove Lo, Train, Yellowcard, Young the Giant, and Zedd. There are others, but they are a little bit… questionable.

Who are some famous artists whose songs aren't all entirely on YouTube?

There aren’t many people from the Old Republic who were (and are) so celebrated, idealised and venerated like Branimir Štulić, better known as Džoni (Johnny).Branimir Džoni Štulić[1]In the mid- and late seventies, Štulić started his musical career with the band later known as Azra. Throughout the eighties and early nineties, Štulić was an icon of Yugoslav music, a favourite of many, even though they understood his music in various ways. When the Old Republic came to its bloody end, Štulić had no homeland any more. Living in Netherlands from the late eighties, Štulić simply stayed there, never to come back to the remains of the Old Republic. He’s still there, writing, translating ancient Greek texts and recording traditional song covers[2], as well as his own (i.e. Azra’s) songs/covers on his Youtube channel[3].However, Štulić publishes only the songs he wants. If you’re an Azra fan like yours truly, odds are high that you’ll never be able to find your favourite Azra song on Youtube. To make things even stranger, it might even be hard to find the lyrics: visiting Metrolyrics could result in “Unfortunately, we aren't authorized to display these lyrics” message[4], and the local sites like Svaštara also report that the page was deleted after a request of the copyright holder[5].Most people putting Youtube videos with Štulić’s music had the videos taken down by Youtube. Why? Štulić hates video and audio recordings of bad quality[6] but even more, he hates the record labels making money from his work[7]. It has been a crusade for decades now, Štulić vs. Croatia Records. So, to answer your question: most songs of possibly the greatest personality of Yugoslav music aren’t on Youtube.Footnotes[1] Branimir Johnny Štulić[2] Juuupiiii! Do artists seem to be different from normal people?

It often seems as though artists are different than the large mass of people, and though it isn't always true, there is a large basis in fact to the belief. It stems from the reality that we have largely been in a rational-focused culture for approximately the last 2000 years, enabling us to gradually progress from abstract language on through the discoveries of printing, then electricity and gravity and finally to quantum physics and space travel. During that time (a veritable headlong rush in human history), nonrational concerns have been - comparatively -  shoved to the side, even denigrated. We have burned mystical healers, calling them witches, defined the word "irrational" as "crazy" and elevated the sciences far above the arts. What parent wouldn't prefer their child choose doctor or physicist to artist as a profession? This has also resulted in the reality that most artists do not tend to come from the mass of society. They tend to be drawn from the group that were the "weird kids" in school. You know, the ones who didn't fit in. You have to work pretty damn hard to end up as a working artist in current culture, and it takes great strength of a certain kind of counter-cultural determination to accomplish it, not to mention some artistic talent. But it may be even more a function of persistence than talent. These folks simultaneously swim upriver socially while swimming in the river artistically, as they communicate with their culture. It's quite a trick. Therefore, artists actually are different in ways that are much deeper than how they dress or behave. They often begin in the margins and are drawn to creativity and have the strength to follow what is oftentimes a lonely journey against great resistance with extremely unpredictable results. This is not ordinary, if we are defining that word by society's general "norms".

Why are most pop singers or artists attractive?

Not all rock/pop stars were good looking before the advent of the music video as it was in the 1980s when MTV first came on the air.  Many rock stars, especially, were not very good looking at all.  But it didn't matter because, for the most part, people only ever saw them if they attended a concert or in airbrushed pictures on album covers or in magazines.  It wasn't very often that you saw popular music on TV back then at all, so good-looks didn't really factor into anything from a business standpoint.  People were more concerned about the music they heard rather than the person making it.However, when music started to become popular on television 24 hours a day, record companies soon realized that good-looking artists would gain more interest from fans.  So we started to see more good looking men and women making hit records rather than not.  It has everything to do with marketing and gobal appeal.  There are plenty of less lens-friendly people making music .... even great music ... but they aren't likely to be signed by UMG and sent to record a big hit pop record.  I know one instance in my own life where a guy I knew was in a band in the late 80s who got signed to a big recording deal and they were told straight away they'd have to fire their singer because he had a big birth-mark on his face.  He was replaced by someone else and the band went on to become very, very big.  So .. it happens.

How Come Martial Artists Are Not Supposed To Kill Their Opponent?

We could, but because of the way we are taught it is more about trying to bring the fight to a stop....

Anyone who wants to kill another just to show how good they are or attacked in a physical way (not by weapons) just wants to be a bully...and they won't take it to defense..they will take it to killing others that have no such way of defending themselves....

--------------------------------------...
oh, as in movie.....its because of the message to kids......
"that you can't be good when bad attacks/happens"

however if i a movie..the villian would be dead
