What would happens to someone should he try to quit the Freemasons?
Quitting is easy. You just write a letter requesting a demit letter, stating that you are leaving on good terms, and you are out. As long as you are paid up with your dues, that is easy. The other way some people leave is to stop paying dues and then they get suspended. That is the less honorable way to go.So what happens to someone when they quit? The big difference is that they can no longer attend meetings. I have friends who have decided to leave for one reason or another. They are still my friends but we just don’t see each other in Lodge anymore.Those who opted to not pay their dues are a different story. It is sort of a cowardly way to go about life, ducking phone calls and other communications because you simply do not want to pay. Members who fall on hard times can request assistance with their dues and almost always they are continued for a year or two until their finances get right and they can pay.But this isn’t a biker gang. You don’t get stomped in and stomped out. Nothing drastic happens. You simply stop being a member.
