How Do I Format My Memory Card In My Lumix

How can I recover data from a memory card that asks to format?

Forgot all these spammy links which need money to get working, here is a free and powerful method to get the job done.Plugging in the SD card into your PC to find out it is not getting detected could be the worst nightmare for anyone having thousands of pictures, music and other important data onto it. I have shared many How-to's and utilities to help users recover data but sadly all of them failed or were unable to recover all data on the SD-card which came to me for recovery. After doing a lot of research on why my computer is asking me to "Format" the SD-card instead of reading it's content, I was pretty sure the culprit was a bad file-system boot sector. While 99.9% of the data recovery applications, both free and paid relied upon the same method to "Scan" and find data from the disk bypassing the file-system "registry" of the files, I was looking for something which will allow me to play with the damaged boot sector of the file-system to recover the underlying "file record registry". Luckily, what I found was not only open-source and free but supported advanced features which nothing else offered, the utility supported NTFS, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, ext2, ext3, ext4, btrfs, BeFS, CramFS, HFS, JFS, Linux Raid, Linux Swap, LVM, LVM2, NSS, ReiserFS, UFS and XFS filesystem and came with cross-platform binaries which can run under DOS, Windows (NT4, 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 2008, Windows 7 (x86 & x64), Windows 10, Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, SunOS and MacOS X.The gem, I found was TestDisk - a powerful, free and open-source (GPLv2) data recovery software designed to help users recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again.TestDisk supports:Fixing partition tables and recovery of deleted partitionsRecovery of FAT32 boot sector from backupRebuilding of FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 boot sectorFixing of FAT tablesRebuilding NTFS boot sectorRecovery of NTFS boot sector from its backupFixing MFT using MFT mirrorLocating ext2/ext3/ext4 Backup SuperBlockRecover deleted files from FAT, exFAT, NTFS and ext2 filesystemRead more: How To Fix And Recover Full Data From Corrupt SD Card Asking For Format | Megaleecher.Net http://www.megaleecher.net/Free-...

What can I do if I am unable to format my memory card?

Try some other card readers and on other computers.Try to format in Disk Manager, not by clicking OK in the prompt. You can try to fix the problems by using the Windows chkdsk function. Click Start, select Run and enter “chkdsk drive_letter :/f” (quotes not included). Tab Enter to start the disk check process. You can also try chkdsk /r, which includes the functions of chkdsk /f. It also marks the bad sectors so that these bad sectors will not be used again, which effectively removes the bad sectors from the system.A word of advice: if your SD card or USB flash drive start to exhibit errors like this, it’s time you throw them away and buy yourself a new one. They have become unstable and it would be risky to continue to store files on them, even if you somehow get them to work again.Recover Files from Unreadable SD cards

Format Camera memory card?! helpppppp?

Okay, I have a 4gb sd memory card 23 more pictures to go and it's full..I'm thinking this could be why this memory card is being so stupid...

My camera broke, and the brand was Lumix.
I have 3 other cameras.
Two and Lumix and One is some cheap whatever.
I used the memory card in the cheap camera, and I took some VERY IMPORTANT pictures, now I put the memory card into the computer and it says that it needs to be formatted. I put it into one of the lumix cameras it says it needs to be formatted, I put it in the other camera and all the pictures showed up from the lumix camera not the cheap one. I have tried to format it on all the cameras, and 4 different computers, but it will NOT format and it no longer takes picture because it says I need to format it. I really can't lose these pictures....but I don'tknow...can someone please help me around this?

Thanks Raven.

How do I format (or re-format) my SDHC card?

I've been using a 4 gig card to take photos over the past year. After copying them to my hard drive, I delete photos from the card by dragging them to the Trash (on my macbook). I used to think that this was effective, since they weren't visible on the memory card when it was in the computer, nor were they visible in the camera. However, when I took my memory card to get prints at a local photo kiosk (Costco, CVS, etc) to my great surprise, there were all the photos that I had thought were deleted! There were about 3400 photographs dating from the past year. Granted, there wasn't much memory left on the card, but I was shocked. I want to know how I can delete these photos for good and free up space on the memory card. I would really like to keep the card as it is 4 gigs. Someone told me to format it on my camera (I have a Nikon D60 and a Panasonic Lumix FZ-18) but I can't figure out how to do that on the menu. Apparently I can also format it on my computer, but I don't know how to do that. Help please! Thanks for your time!!

My lumix camera keeps repeating "Memory card error..Format this card?" I say yes but nothing happens! HELP ME!?

Go to:
http://retrevo.com/s/Panasonic-DMC-FS3-D...
Then click on download the manual.
OR,
1. Are you sure that the little memory card's switch is not set on
LOCK? (I've done that a few times)
2. Do you take photos and then turn off the camera? That might
corrupt your card.
3. Have you tried inserting the memory card into your computer to
see the images?
4. If you can see the images, you can either transfer them to your
computer or online site, then erase the card.
5. Re-insert the memory card back into the Panasonic Lumix
camera and see if it works. Alternatively, try a fresh media card.
If the new card works, then it was your old media card. If the new
card doesn't work, then it's your camera.

How do I unlock my memory card with my Lumix digital camera? (2)?

Tonight I was taking some pictures of my daughter on my mother's camera, and then put them on the computer to send my boyfriend's mom.
When I put the memory card back in the camera, it said that the memory card is locked, and now I can't take any pictures. I'm really angry and upset, because the camera is my mother's, and it was $600.

-The computer is hp
-The camera is Panasonic LUMIX and the number at the top is, DMC-TZ1 (if this helps)

Do you know how I unlock the memory card?
Thank you so much (if you answer).

How can you fix a micro SD card which is unable to format or delete files?

Your question begs more questions from my end because it lacks lot of details. With what device are you trying to delete files from the card / trying to format it?Do you get any error message(s) when you try to delete files from the card or when you try to format it? If not, explain what is happening exactly. Are you trying it on a Laptop, or is it a desktop computer? Is it an external card reader or is it an inbuilt card reader?Does the same thing happen when you try to delete files from a different card or any other storage device(s)?If it is an external card reader, have you tried connecting it to different USB ports on the computer to see if the same problem happens? Here is a generic answer to your question assuming that you are using your computer to do what you are trying to do. I can think of two reasons why you are unable to delete files from your MicroSD card and even formatting it isn't helping:Your computer may be infected with some Trojan / virus which replicates itself to your MicroSD card everytime you connect it to the computer and delete the files or even format the card. The card may be malfunctioning which could be why you are unable to format it to erase all existing data on it.Solution:Connect it to a different computer and try to delete the contents of the SD card to see if it works but make sure that computer is well protected against any infections with the help of a security software which is up to date with virus definitions. Didn't work? Try formatting it.
