How Do I Get To My Personal Nook Library

Is the Barnes and Noble Nook worth buying?

Nook 3G includes free internet.
E-books are cheaper than real books.
- Original e-Ink Nook allows to lend books for 2 weeks to friends or to your other devices that run B&N app. Barnes & Noble allows (when you walk in with the Nook to B&N store) to read any available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi. With Nook, while in BN store you get exclusive articles from top authors, and great offers including cafe treats and unique deals.
- Nook Color is better as a color e-Reader than Kindle simply because it has color and Kindle is black and white. Content that greatly benefits from color - such as kids books and magazines - looks much better and sharper on Nook Color's screen. Nook Color is better as an e-Reader in general than iPad. It has a new generation screen which is anti-glare coated and is better performing in sunlight than iPad's. Also, as it's smaller in size than iPad, the text appears sharper on Nook's screen. Also it has 12,000 (more soon) kids books that are built as a game with feedback.
Overall, Nook Color is more than e-Reader as you can also watch video and use Android applications on it. It's a hybrid device, much more than just an e-Reader but not a full tablet as it doesn't have a camera. If all you want is to read novels, Kindle (or the original e-Ink Nook) might be better for you.
If you want something more from your device at half of the price of iPad or Galaxy tab, then Nook Color is your best bet.
- Nook (unlike Kindle) can be used for library ebooks.
- Nook (unlike Kindle) can be used for renting text-ebooks.

A Have Nook Color Question?

Hi, kakarott71 - yes, you can transfer and view your PDF's (and JPG's and MP3's and MP4's, etc) to Nook Color. You can connect your NOOK Color to a computer (using the NOOKcolor microUSB cable) to transfer personal files. Your NOOK Color will appear on your computer as a removable drive. Just click on the file on your computer and copy it (drag-and-drop) to the appropriate NOOK Color folder.
All of your personal photos, images and videos can be found in "my files" located in your NOOK Color library. 1) Tap on "library"; 2) Tap on "my files". There are many folders within "my files" to store multimedia content: Pictures, Videos, etc. These files may also be accessed through the Gallery found in under Extras from the Home Screen.
Personal files saved on a microSD card installed in your NOOK Color can be found in your Library.
1. Press the Home Button
2. Tap on the Quick Nav Arrow
3. Tap on "library"
4. Tap on "my files"
5. Tap on "Memory Card", found at the top of the screen, just below the row of icons.

I have a kindle fire and my parents wont let me buy books. What should I do?

I'm turning 17 in a few days and its not like I have a credit card but I HAVE cash. My personal cash from Christmas presents that id like to save but I asked my parents if I could just get an amazon giftcard so I could buy books with my money on my kindle hut they said no Bc they want me to save it for when I need books for school or something. Wff? They're my parents. First of all, they ought to provide for me so they ought to be buying my school books and second- I don't even need any more books for school for the year. I asked for a nook for Christmas so I could 'borrow' them or read them for free at b&n but they got me a kindle fire instead Bc they thought it was better and yeah there are free books on the kindle but I want others. I love reading so the point of this wasn't to use this device as an ipad or whatever. I want to read!! Wtf? I'm about to just tell them to return it for being so difficult. This isn't what I had in mind. At all.

Reading tablet (Kindle/Nook) or actual book?

Let's face it, Books (ink on paper) is a mature technology that has worked well for hundreds of years. There is nothing wrong with reading from books.

That being said, there are virtues to reading eBooks, and I've largely moved over to reading ebooks unless I can get a super good deal on printed books. eBooks offer the following advantages that regular books can't:

1. Ability to increase and decrease fonts and adjust line spacing, etc. As people's eyes get older, this is a wonderful feature.

2. eBooks are almost always cheaper simply because you don't have to actually obtain paper and ink, physically print them, and then ship them around the world.

3. Selection. How many books does your book superstore have in it? Tens of thousands? Maybe even a hundred thousand? Amazon has 3 million last I checked, including many lesser known books that aren't even available in print. If you like niche books like zombie fiction, there's a ton available on Amazon, many of which you can't find elsewhere.

4. Storage. My Kindle eReader says it will store 3,500 books. Before getting my Kindle, I'd have to sort through books every couple of years and get rid of a bunch because I was running out of room. How I wish I'd had a Kindle 30 years ago. I could re-read hundreds of my favorite books. And even if my Kindle breaks, all those books are in the Cloud, ready to download again...for free.

5. No more having to go to the book store. Just search online and download. Less than a minute later, I'm reading.

So yes, if there's a book that really means a lot to me, I'll buy the print version. Or if I get a spectacular deal, like the two books I bought at a garage sale for 50 cents total, I'll buy a print book. Otherwise it's all Kindle eBooks.
