What is the best time to go to Six Flags Great Adventure?

Never go on the weekends or on holidays. The best time to go is on a weekday (except for Fridays) early in the morning when the park first opens. Also, if it is overcast weather, that is also a good day to go. However, I would only recommend this if you live in the area or if you have a season pass. However, in general, the best days to go are on weekdays other than Friday. For the fall, I would avoid the fright fest at all costs. There are way too many people, the parking lot is insane, and the lines are always at least an hour long.

How do you get the most out of your trip to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey?

Go on an overcast day. If it is cloudy or looks like it's gonna rain, not as many people will be in attendance as a park. I would only recommend this if you have a season pass or don't mind your money you spent on your ticket potentially being wasted.AVOID Fright Fest. The park becomes extremely packed during the months this is active as people from the surrounding major cities (NYC, Philly, etc) and areas (Long Island, Pennsylvania, Connecticut) come down. The parking is also insane during the time of the Fright Fest in these months.Never go on a weekend or a Friday. It is way too packed on those days.If you go and see it's increasingly crowded, you may want to consider getting a Flash Pass, especially if you think this may be the only time you'll ever be here.Arrive before the park opens. I recommend to arrive at least 30 minutes before opening.Wear sneakers. If possible, wear pants that have zipper or securely buttoned pockets.Avoid wearing a belt. if you must, you're going to have to take it off as you enter the metal detectors.Bring as few bags as possible. Having a lot of bags will most likely slow down the lines at the metal detector.BUY YOUR TICKETS BEFORE YOU GET THERE. This is so you don't have to wait in line to buy one. instead, you can just be scanned through.that's all the tips I can think of.

What are the best rides in Six Flags Great Adventure?

El Toro-Super smooth, insane airtime, amazing dropNitro-Enjoyable ride, good airtime, can run very slow at timesKingda Ka-One trick pony, the launch is fun, but it’s over way too quicklySuperman: Ultimate Flight-I rank this over Bizarro because it’s a flying coaster. The feeling of flying is just incredible. Beyond that though, it’s averageBizarro- One of the better floorless coasters. It’s intense, smooth, and has special effects (that may or may not run)

Why hasn’t Six Flags Great Adventure come out with great rides recently?

The reason Six Flags NJ hasn't come out with any great rides recently is very simple. Six Flags Great Adventure has been run into the ground by a dope named John Fitzgerald. I don't know to whom he is related or whose butt he kissed that he foolishly was named CEO? I can tell you from personal experience of dealing with him that he is a condescending "know it all" with a terrible attitude!! Instead of continuing to build excellent rides & attractions the concern has been the converted safari ride (making money by charging people if they would like to feed a giraffe) & childrens play areas. Families may be the bread and butter of Disney but Six Flags Great Adventure has always had a large teen & young adult demographic. Particularly latino & African American from the 5 boroughs of New York City, Newark, Camden & Philadelphia. Do you think minorities care about "Wiggles World"? Thankfully with Fitzgerald gone (don't let the door hit ya) there is hope for the future. Until they bring in another Nitro, Kingda Ka or Jumanjaro drop of doom they will continue to lose customers & need the teenage regulars to keep the turnstiles moving.

What is your recommendation for Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey? Do you recommend taking the kids for a day out in July?

Six Flags Great Adventure is a huge park, with a lot to do for everyone. Besides the rides and roller coasters, there is a free safari ride, and a large water park that you can visit for an additional fee. It remains one of my highest rated parks due to its size and collection of attractions. If your kids are below the height range of 48″ to 54″, they will be unable to go on many of the larger thrill rides and roller coasters. See this link to view the full list of rides and requirements. Also, depending on what day you are visiting, lines can get to be long. I would recommend staying at least 2 days at the park to be able to experience nearly all of what it offers, but one day may be sufficient if you buy Flash Passes to diminish the queue lengths. If the roller coasters and rides are your main reason for visiting, just be sure to glance at those height requirements before visiting. That doesn’t go to say that there isn’t a lot to do for the whole family though, with the safari being the main draw. All in all, my opinion is that it is one of the best parks in the USA.

Transportation From NYC to Six Flags Great Adventure

My friend, from your hotel, walk to the 57th Street subway station of the "N", "R", "Q" and "W" lines (Yellow Line). Take the downtown (southbound) train from 57th Street and Times Square-42nd Street.

Once at Times Square-42nd Street, walk to the Port Authority Bus Terminal via the underground concourse (follow the direction sign that says "A", "C", "E", Port Authority Bus Terminal") and take the NJ Transit bus route 308 to Six Flags.

I hope this information is very helpful.

Good luck and enjoy

What are the best ways to get from New York City to Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ?

I live in Jackson and grew up in Hazlet, NJ.Assuming we are talking about driving there are multiple paths to Six Flags. The most obvious and direct path is the NJ Turnpike to exit 7A…this would put you on interstate 195 which you would take east to exit 16A. This exit would drop you onto Route 537 West/South…the entrance to Six Flags will be a short distance on the right.Additionally, from the NJ Turnpike you could get off at exit 11…take Route 9 south to Route 537 West/South in Freehold. Take Route 537 about 10 miles and the entrance to Six Flags will again be on your right.Of course you could take the train from Penn Station to Hamilton and Uber it from Hamilton to Six Flags and back again. Not sure of the cost there but it would entail a significant walk through the parking lot as they could not enter the parking lot without paying.Have fun…
