How Do I Recover My Lost Work

How to recover lost word document?

Heres somthing i hope will help. Since the auto-recovery didnt seem to show you the file you wanted, this should actually be good hope for you! Beacause 'auto-recovery' saves UNNAMED or UNTITLED or UNSAVED files...so your file should be somewhere saved on your computer !!! (: *fingers crossed* So here are a few ways to try find it:
1. there will be a folder called 'recent items' or 'recently changed' or something along these lines. Your word document could be under some of these (:
2. try the search bar and try somethings you coudl have called. OR since you say you didnt save it....i think you may have called it 'document 1' or 'untitled 1' because, if you hadnt saved it before you closed it would have said 'do you want to save this file?' so it could be something like that.
3.AS A LAST RESORT you could try(maybe you should check this one with someone else) BUT you could restart the computer( but not the safe way, but by pressing the button). This works with my computer, because it then always comes up in microsoft word with the autorecovery tab (:
im not really sure what else, but try these and i really hope you find it (: and if dont sorry i couldnt help more xx

Is there a way to recover lost Gimp files?

I was working on an image in Gimp, and suddenly it crashed! I hadn't saved the file yet when Gimp got that irritating "Not Responding" fogginess, and then just completely shut down and closed the program. Is there any chance of getting my data back? Any way to recover the lost files, like Microsoft Word does when it is shut down without saving? Any help is appreciated!

How do I recover my account on Howrse if the lost password is not working?

The only thing I can think of is if you haven't been on the site for at least 90 days, your account may have been deleted, which might be why it's not working - it's 90 days of inactivity when your account gets set up for deletion, although some users have been very lucky.

If that's not the case, then try asking for a different password again.

How to recover lost files from scratch?

If you haven't saved then unfortunately not :(

We had a similar problem on our school network where the default drive for saving scratch projects was a temporary network folder... Loads of people lost work and there is nothing that can be done to get it back :'(

Really sorry for your loss...

Keep Scratching :)

How do i recover a lost/missing Microsoft works word processor file after a system restore?

Bummer. When you do a system recovery, it pretty much wipes the drive clean and then restores the OS from a small partition towards the tail end of the hard drive. Certain systems (I think Dell is one of them) have software that is capable of occasionally copying files that meet a specific criteria occasionally to a backup partition, but it's usually irregular and limited by backup criteria (must be under/over a certain size, a certain file type, updated on a certain frequency, whatever). If it's not there, then it probably didn't get backed up.

The good news is that computers aren't capable of "erasing" files, they're only capable of "overwriting" files, and when you do a system recovery, all you're doing is overwriting the current operating system section of the hard drive with the Dell factory image. If you use a program like GetDataBack for NTFS, you can scan the entire drive and pull up every file on the computer that still hasn't been overwritten by the system recovery (essentially it just ignores the hard drive Table of Contents and looks at the actual contents of the hard drive itself). With any luck, your file will be listed among the files that haven't been overwritten. I give your odds at around 50/50 based on how often I actually find the files that customers are looking for.
