How Do I Wash My Boppy

Can I put my Boppy in the wash?

I would hand wash it. I washed and dried my first one on delicate/low settings and it bent it all out of shape. :(

Washing boppy slipcover too?

No, I actually didn't.

I only washed some clothes and blankets. Not all.

I didn't feel that extra step was necessary. Especially with newborns, they wear things for such a short amount of time.

You'll be washing a lot more after baby is born. So I would leave it for then.

How is a Boppy pillow used?

Boppy pillows can be used in several ways!It can be used for nursing. Placing the boppy pillow on your waist positions the baby perfectly for nursing. It can also be used for bottle feeding. Placing the baby on the pillow will give enough support and comfort for the baby, and give you an easy way to feed your baby.Bobby pillows can also be used for the comfort of pregnant mothers, by placing it under your butt as a cushion.Bobby pillows can also be used for a baby to take naps by placing them on their back, or even on the side, using the bobby pillow for head cushioning. Bobby pillows can even be used to play with your baby. Place the baby on their back and place a hanging toy over their head.Bobby pillows can also support the baby from the back when sitting to prevent them from leaning backwards. A bobby pillow can also be placed in the front of the baby to prevent them from leaning forwards.Having a hard time to get your baby to sleep? What is a better nursing pillow, boppy, or my breast friend....why??? i plan on nursing & need advise?

My daughter is 7 months, and I'm still using a breast feeding pillow by "Jolly Jumper", and my daughter is in the 75th percentile for weight & height, so she's not tiny. I absolutely love it. It makes breast feeding so easy... any time, any place! Enjoy your pregnancy :)

Where can I get a new pillowcase for a boppy maternity sleep pillow?

I have a boppy maternity sleep pillow from my first pregnancy. I got it out the other day to wash the cover to being using again with this pregnancy. However, the zipper is broken is the cover. I have been searching online and I can't find a replacement cover for it anywhere & I don't really want to have to buy a new pillow. Does anyone know if its possible to get a replacement cover?

Thanks in advance :)

Will you mess up a baby’s back if you let them sleep on a boppy pillow every night over a prolonged period?

You are more likely to find that the baby is dead in the morning than you are to find the baby's back is injured. Positional asphyxiation is the term for the type of suffocation that occurs when a newborn is left to sleep in a car seat, swing, baby carrier, or any other device that causes the weight of their upper body to compress their rib cage.It is very tempting for sleep-deprived parents to leave the infant sleeping wherever they were when they finally settled down. Waking the baby up and starting another round of screaming is the last thing you want at that moment. And for caregivers of newborns with reflux and other issues that make it even harder for them to sleep, it seems sensible to leave the children propped up.Don't do it.Have you heard of the "back to sleep" campaign or seen any literature about safe sleep practices, or spoken with any health professional during a pregnancy or afterward about the importance of placing a newborn on their back, alone, in a crib, with no pillows or blankets or stuffed animals or any other suffocation hazards? Here is some information on it.Safe sleep for your babyAlso read this piece:Florida Mother Arrested in Co-Sleeping Death of Newborn SonIt's about a mother who has just been charged in the death of her infant while cosleeping. The parents were coached on safe sleeping practices and had already had one hospital visit because of a cosleeping accident. They were aware of the risks to the child in their care and chose to disregard those risks, and now they have not only lost a child, but they are going to have to go through prosecution and probably conviction. Most of the time, when an infant dies due to parental negligence or ignorance of safe sleep practices, the parents get away with no punishment other than their grief and the empty space in their family. But not always. Please educate yourself so that you can do what is best for this baby, who is entirely at your mercy.

Pillow or no pillow for newborn?

Nope, no pillows. The only thing that belongs in the crib is your baby and a fitted sheet. No blankets, no pillows, no stuffed animals, nothing. You can introduce a pillow when your baby is much older. But our son is 21 months and still doesn't use one, he prefers not to(we've offered him it but he screamed until it was removed!).

How often should you wash your beddings/bedsheet and pillow covers?

First question, do you make your bed first thing? I do not, it's the last thing I do before I leave home, by that time, hopefully some of the perspiration can have dried before being locked in, that is when I remember. The sheets get washed weekly, the pillow case every day or two it gets changed; I am loaded with good quality pillow cases. I was told it would help keep my skin in better shape, can't guarantee but my skin has been good for years, I am now 66.Also, when on sale buy quality sheets, 200 thread count up to 400 thread count, more wrinkles. A good sheet will last year's, I really hate sleeping on those cheap bally sheets that ware out fast and are really uncomfortable; my grandmother gave me sheets as a wedding gift and 20 years later the fitted sheet wore out so the top sheet became curtains and the cases become the valence.Hope this helps TFA

Why is it that every time my wife purchases sheets and pillow cases she insists on washing them first in spite of the fact they are new?

>Why is it that every time my wife purchases sheets and pillow cases she insists on washing them first in spite of the fact they are new?Because they have been soaked in various fabric treatments that make them stiffer and less comfortable than they will be after they are washed. And also because factories can be dirty.I wouldn’t dream of putting brand new linens on my bed until they have been washed.

Nose bleed while breast feeding?!?

that is so strange! i got really bad nosebleeds for a few days when i breastfed my son. Like so bad i had to stick a tampon in my nose (TMI, i know)....i had to wash my Boppy so many times. I never got nosebleeds either. I think its due to stress or possibly fluctating hormone levels. Going from being pregnant to "not-pregnant" within a day is one of the most traumatic expiriences for your body, even more so than going from not pregnant to pregnant.
