How Does Army Mos Openings Work

Army infantry mos spots/openings?

if you're talking about the active army (opposed to NG), then the spots are army wide. also, recruiters dont get or assign MOSs or contracts, their entire job is to make sure you are ready to go to MEPS and sign your contract there.

never heard of the army not having any 11x spots open...

Typically, how often are there openings for the Army MOS 89D or 35M?

Haha to the guy who said they are always looking for a 35M he couldn't be more wrong.

Currently MOS 35M is over 116%, they are trying to get people in the MOS 35M to re class into 35L because, we can no longer Re up into our same MOS anymore. Unless you fit some criteria... so, i would advise against that. Plus, if you end up stationed in the states you will not be doing your job. The only time you get to do it is if your deployed or overseas in places like Korea, Japan and Germany. Maybe Alaska too.

I don't know what an 89D is.. otherwise id tell you about that too.

What ARMY MOS/job is better?

Well with 15G you might have more opportunity in the civilian world later for employment, but you have to consider which one would give you more enjoyment. After all a job is always better if it is something you want to do to begin with. Now as for me I think 19Kilo is the way to go but there are few opportunities for an Armor Crewman in the civilian world. Good luck to you either way.

What Army Mos can you get with the lowest Asvab score of 31?

Most of these answers are pretty accurate. The most important thing to remember is that the 31 is basically meaningless for jobs. It is used to determine what category a person joins as and whether they are eligible for some incentives. The scores you need to focus on are the line scores such as GT etc. Scoring a 31 means most of those scores will be on the low end, but mechanical, electronics or science knowledge can pull some of those line scores up a bit despite a poor GT. Jobs given based on the line score for that job.

What jobs should he expect to possibly be offered? Logisitics jobs like supply clerk, parts order clerk, fuel handler, motor transport (truck driver), textiles, food service, etc are all good possibilities. There are a few combat jobs that he may also qualify for depending on his CO or FA scores. There are some occasions when they will waive a point or a few for certain jobs, but those are the ones to expect unless he has an unexpectedly good day at the test. If he's having trouble passing I'd recommend asking the recruiters when he can take a MET Site test (paper version instead of computer) as those allow you to go back and check your answers in your extra time and the computer test does not. People generally score better on the paper test.

Good luck.

What army mos can you get with Asvab score of 32?

Very few. Regardless of what everyone here is saying, it is EXTREMELY hard now to get a job with average score, much less a 32. I scored a 95 and it took me 2 days to sign for a job. The Army has more people enlisting than ever before. Just last month, all Combat Arms and Medical jobs were locked. I was lucky to get 68W, apparently someone dropped out and I got their slot. Most jobs are shipping later than October because all classes are locked and filled. Some people make 3 or 4 trips to MEPS just to get an MOS. It doesn't matter what you score, the Army doesn't have room like it did a couple of years ago. However, it is much better to have a higher score because it allows you to be eligible for more jobs should one open up.

None of my friends got the job they wanted, and I got mine by luck. You can try to request a job when you get to MEPS, but most likely it won't be available. Remember, if you do reserve a job with a recruiter, but request a different one at MEPS, the service counselor will have to drop your reservation. You lose the reserved slot for that job. So, it's a gamble.

What Army MOS jobs do I qualify for?

I'm sick and tired of hearing how recruiters "lie". I spent more than 14 years in recruiting (and was very successful), and many of those as a station commander. To lie, is a very serious offense, and I didn't tolerate it. Why should one lie? Oh, that's right....do what it takes to get them in. Whatever.....

Don't get me wrong, as I'm sure there are some bad recruiters out there, but most are very honest.

In reference to your question:
If I had a prospect question me on what he, or she is qualified for, I would ask several things.
-What do you like to do?
-Do you like to work outdoors, or indoors?

We had materiel that we could use to reference MOS's to "line scores" (GT, GM, etc.). Where some recruiters get in a little bind, is when they tell someone that they are qualified for a specific job based on their score. Now the prospect is very excited, but when they get to MEPS, they find out they are not physically qualified, or the job has no openings....

Now, from what I hear times have changed a little (I've been out for 5 years now). I think recruiters can now pull jobs on their laptops??

OK, I'm done venting....as stated before, get with a recruiter. If he, or she doesn't want to help, ask to speak to their station commander.

Good luck, and thanks for wanting to serve!

Civilian jobs for Army MOS 25P?

that is a great mos.

signal works with computers too, so youll have skills you can use. teamwork, dependability, computers.

you will be accountable for expensive equipment, sensitive equipment most of all.

i would say, look into industry. work in light industry, for telecommunication companies. they have those that maintain global communication systems. there are all sorts. look for a huge conglomerate.

also try the PAYS program. your recruiter brings up on screen certain jobs with companies you can join after the Army.

good luck, youre smart to pick that field. very smart. it is very lucrative inside the army and outside.

What’s an exciting MOS in the Army for someone who wants to see action and that has good job security that will translate into a decent civilian career?

I personally doubt there is one that hits all of those. It’s like the old Triangle: Quality, Affordability, Expediency. You can get Quality and Affordability, but it will take ages. You can get Quality and Expediency, but it’s gonna cost you.You can get Affordability and Expediency, but it will be poorly done.Seeing “action” and decent civilian career seldom go hand in hand.Want “action”? Be a Cav Scout, Infantry, or Medic. MAKE SURE you work with your recruiter to go to a “line unit” as a Medic though or you will likely not see “action” as you desire.Decent civilian career? None of those. Not even close. Cav Scouts and Infantry are sandbags. Medics are EMT-B’s. I got LUCKY and had my MA cert waived based on service but it is NOT a standard.X-Ray tech gives you a cert that DOES translate civilian side and pays decently.Dental tech can, but often doesn’t.Neither even know what combat sounds like.Human Resources can get you a desk job and you can apply to be a receptionist somewhere. No combat, ever. The ONLY jobs I can think of that MIGHT offer all of the above are mechanics (amazing real job potential) but you’d need to be “lucky” enough to get on a line unit on a FOB or something.Good luck.
