How Is Isis So Strong

How strong is ISIS now that their caliphate is gone?

A lot of former ISIS members who were part of Abu al-Zarqawi's group before going with Abu al-Baghdadi's group (Islamic State of Iraq) when he defied al-Zarahiri's edict have rejoined al-Qaeda in it's latest incarnation, Tahrir al-Sham as well as being bussed from Idlib to Turkey to be redployed as “FSA” in Afrin on behalf of Erdogan. So they are not fighting the Assad government, the term rebel doesn't apply. They are at best al-Qaeda affiliated mercanaries. As a group, they are almost finished. But that their fighters have been rescued and re-branded, but they still carry the same ideology, I'm sure they'll reemerge again.al-Qaeda-in-Iraq was an American invention to bolster the second justification for the original US invasion after there was no active weapons of mass destruction program. They referred to themselves as Islamic State in Iraq. They've had multiple name changes since Abu al-Zarqawi formally announced the creation of his group in 1999.It's doubtful they will still use the name Islamic State, but if past behavior is an indication of future behavior, I have no doubt that the ideology won't be picked up and re-branded later. They're not all dead, despite suffering huge casualties and some have left the battle field, staying connected and plotting no differently than al-Qaeda. But I don't see see them coming back in strength in the Middle East. I imagine they'll move to North Africa. Their grievances have never been addressed, because they're completely unacceptable. But so long as they have people that believe in their message that the Ummah must take up arms, they're always going to have disaffected people to recruit.Something like the Nazis, with bombs. They never went away completely. Some adapted, like some of the far right groups like Le Pens party in France. But I don't see ISIS ever becoming a legitimate populist party. They're going to be banned like the Muslim Brotherhood everywhere.

Who made ISIS so strong?

USA left their arms and ammunation after saddam n osama killings, isis is playing with those right now. To add further, USA aided a group in syria with arms, this group later became ISIS.

How strong is ISIS?

They stay strong because they are like cockroaches. They are very hard to kill. To keep the analogy going, we could fumigate the middle east. Sending in millions of foreign troops to wipe them out would get rid of the group. However if the environment in which they sprung up is not changed a new group will simply spring up in its place. The way to truly and finally kill Deash is to change the environment in which they operate to an extent such that it is no longer compatible to the group's survival. Changing that environment entails a strong regional government which has the support of the people, a populus which harbors no/little ill will towards the West, and a lot of economic ties. Doing all this takes time. Right now the Iraqi and Syrian governments are in the slow process of taking back territory the insurgents have seized without harming too many civilians. It is important that the faces of the liberators are not foreigners. The people need to see that their own government is capable of protecting them. And that means local militaries who don't leave a trail of bodies during a "liberation". Doing all of this is slow going. You simply have to take comfort from the fact that the insurgents are being pushed back on every front. They are not getting any closer. One day they will be gone. Hopefully when that day comes the environment in the Middle East is such that no more terrorist groups ever rise again.

Why is ISIS so powerful?

they arent powerfull they are cruel and ruthless those are two different thing.if the syrian werent busy fighting the rebells ISIS 30 000 strong men will be expelled from much of those terriroty, if iraq hadn't such weak leadership (army general busy stealing the soldier's paycheck rather then commanding them) iraq with its 600 000 strong army would have crushed ISIS.if the west werent busy trying to score politicial gains i have no doubt that they will erase or at least hurt ISIS in such short time. ISIS beheads hundreds of innocent civilians and you call them powerfull?! to me thats cowardice.
