How Long Does It Usually Take To Hear Back From An Employer After An Interview

How long does it usually take for an employer to call back after you apply for a job?

It normally takes 2-3 weeks for an employer to call back, but it took my brothers employer 2 months!!

How long does it usually take for a job offer after an interview?

A2AI’m going to give the same advice that I gave to someone who applied for a director’s role at a software company.Send a thank you note, after the interview, so that it arrives the day after, or the next day. Something like (assuming the person who interviewed you was named “John Doe”:John Doe:Thank you again for considering me for this position, I really appreciate it!I look forward to hearing from you regarding the position!Sincerely,Your Name Here(999)-999–99991122 Example AvenueAnytown, USATo:Demonstrate your continued interest in the jobDemonstrate your enthusiasmGet your name and contact informationDemonstrate that you are willing to make a bigger effort than the other people who interviewed (how many other people bothered to send a note?)Make them more likely to notify you, even if you didn’t get the job (some employers just don’t tell you anything, if the hire someone else!)And that covers it.As far as how long it takes: it take however long it takes.Depending on the employer, they might get busy with other stuff, or they might hire someone else and not say anything, or they might have a longer time frame, or someone in the family might have a baby, etc..Usually, I recommend you not sit waiting on only one employer, and that you interview multiple places.However.This is a job where, at best, you’re likely to need a food handler’s permit from the local city/county/whatever.The better answer for this kind of job when asked when you’re available to start is always “Right now, ma’am!”.They are more likely to hire you on the spot, if they like you at all, rather than interviewing other people (“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush”).For a job that has a relatively low bar, if you can be available immediately, it’s always best (unless you have promised other interviews). Everyone but another employer, or a kid waiting to be picked up from somewhere, is going to understand you cancelling on them in favor of work. And good luck on the new job!

Job interview - how long does it usually take to hear back?

I know exactly where you are coming from. I waited on pins and needles for weeks before hearing back that I'd gotten the job that I currently have. And they were totally unresponsive with my emails (after I got the job, they kind of apologized for that.....but they're just really busy and disorganized in general).

The economy is in deep trouble. There are vast numbers of overqualified people who are out of a job right now. (Lucky for you, you have a current job!)

I can't make promises because in this economy there's just no way to tell. (I applied for TONS of jobs that I thought I was a shoe-in for.....only got the one job offer. It happened to be my top choice, but it's scary to think that I could still be unemployed right now without that one offer.) But I think you're in a good place for this job....

1. You've worked there before.
2. You got a glowing letter of recommendation from your CURRENT boss (always a good sign).
3. It was a good idea to send the thank-you note. Kudos!
4. Your follow-up letter with additional ideas shows initiative and enthusiasm. It was a good move!

Don't flip out. Stay calm. At this point, the best thing to do is wait. Good luck!!!

By the way, it's still 2 days until Thanksgiving and most people consider "around Thanksgiving" to be "after Thanksgiving." With all the applicants they probably have, it might still be another couple weeks. Just sit tight and wait.

How long does it usually take for an employer to call you about a second job interview?

I went to a "group" interview that consisted of quite a few people. We were given 5 minutes for an individual screening. The employer said that he would call us back for a second interview that would be in more depth. How long does it usually take for an employer to call you back for a second interview?

How long after an interview do you hear back?

I had an interview 2 weeks ago today as a bank teller. I emailed, but it was an HR general email address (large, 4-state branch) because the interviewer didn't give her email; I'm worried she didn't get it. Should I call? (I have her number) how long does it take to hear back usually?

It's been a while, but how long does it usually take to hear back from a drug test/background check?

I had an interview this past week at Albertsons. It went well and was given a drug test kit immediately after the interview to which I had taken just a half hour later. I was told by the hiring manager that I would be contacted in the next few days. It's been 3 days and personally been a while since the last time I had to do the whole "wait to be called" routine. I was wondering how long it usually takes to hear back from the pre-employment process. Any Albertsons employees(current or former) would also be appreciated.

How long does it take to hear about an interview after submitting an application?

I applied to Michaels craft store, and to Woof Dah doggie day care. Anyone know how long it takes for an employer to review applications? It doesnt necessarily have to be for either of those places, just in general.
