Basically if you read the instructions on the pack, they are a guide line...

if you keep looking at your hair you can see it actually getting lighter..but it will always come out darker they it looks with the bleach in it.. you r usually better off putting foil around it as it works because that keeps it moist (bleach stops working if it dries). But keep touching the outside of the foil to feel the temperature...if the foil starts to get warm..its ok..but if it gets really hot then wash it out, because it could damage your hair..

if your wash it out and its not as light as you want it, then just put some more in and wait for a while...If your planning on putting blue in, i suggest you bleach it till it is "platinum blonde" which is basically white blonde.. Because if you put blue on yellow blond then it will turn green..which isnt very nice!

A few more tips..when using the bleach, where gloves and avoid getting it on your hands..if you do get it on your skin, you may get something called "white burn"..dont worry..its not harmful. Its just like a white mark on your skin. Just wash your skin and apply moisturizer.. it should disappear after that..

avoid getting the bleach and the dye on your clothes also. its hard to get off.

after you wash your hair, try towel drying it with an old towel or one that is almost the same color.. the color will still run..

When you are washing your hair, put lots of conditioner in it and let it soak, this will help your hair recover from the damage of bleach

good luck :)

Ooh... You have dyed red? That might be a problem...
In order to achieve blue hair, you need to bleach it out to a pale blonde, and since your hair is red now it will get hard... Trust, I've been there.
When you bleach Red hair it will lighten to orange, from Orange it will lighten to yellow and from yellow it will lighten to pale which is where you need to get it...

Remember the Color wheel? Let me give you a little point of advice here...
If you add the blue dye to red hair. What happens when you mix red and blue... You get purple right? So you will end up with purple hair.
If you add the blue dye to orange hair, what happens when you mix blue and orange? You get brown right? You will have neutral mud looking color hair.
If you add blue dye to yellow hair, what happens if you mix blue and yellow? You get green right? You will have green hair...
BUT if you add blue dye to pale hair, You will have blue hair.

Red is the hardest color to get rid of... So just make sure you give your hair some TLC by deep conditioning it and reducing heat tools to slim/none.

Hope this helps.

How long should I leave bleach if I want my hair to be white?

First of all be really careful your going to have a lot of breakage and tour hair is going to be very dry. But there is no set time really just put it on starting at your ends, do the roots last! Then put a plastic processing cap on. Check every 5 min just wipe a little away with your finger. Wash out when its a pale yellow. DO NOT wait till its white! Your hair could come out in clumps!!!!!! Your next step is to use a toner to neutralize the pale yellow and get that cool platinum blonde. For a toner you need a Demi permanent color with violet undertones. Or you could get it done at a salon to ensure the integrity of your hair. You're prob gonna want to do a deep conditioner 1-3 x a week

When you bleach black hair how long do you leave the bleach in to make it really blond?

It should come with instructions, but if not, you need to watch it. By 45min, it will probably do all it can to lift color, but there will be more damage the longer you leave it on.

Check your hair every ten minutes until its a shade you like. Don't exceed 45ish minutes, or you will have a lot of breakage.

Oh- i didn't see you were doing it to black hair. Use the same method above but you may have to do it twice. Then use a purple toner to get the brassy color out.

How long should i leave my hair from bleaching?

well that depends on how many times you need to bleach, if you're toning or just dying over it, what color or level you want to achieve, etc. certain bleaches have different time limits so it also depends on the developer vol of the bleach you're using too. generally no bleach should be left on for longer then 45 mins to an hour but again that depends on the vol. more information is needed to properly answer this question.

okay well 40 vol is really going to dry your hair so make sure you deep condition after. i would honestly recommend using a lower vol bleach such as wella wellite bleach. you'll have to use it more than once but your hair will be better off. anyway, if you're going to use the btz kit then do a strand test first and see how your hair is going to react. time it and see how light your hair gets within 45 mins. if it's a bright orange, keep it on another 15. make sure if you have to bleach it again to wait a week or two and CONDITION it a lot. then you're going to have to tone it when you get to the level you want it.

How long do I have to let bleach sit in my hair before I have to rinse it out?

Depends what volume you use and if it is professional and not stuff from Sally's and how dark your hair is and how you want it. Honestly I would never leave it on more than 30 minutes using non professional stuff. And bleaching needs to be done in steps and not all at once.My suggestions are to use a 20 vol so it doesn't lift to fast. I did once and my hair turned to straw. But I used Moroccan oil to fix it. It's not cheap but it work miracles.
