How Long Should I Wait To Transfer

How long before i can transfer to another Walmart?

They waived the 6 month requirement a couple years ago, so you shouldn't have a problem transferring at any point. You're not guaranteed a transfer, the same pay, or the same position. You'll want to speak with a member of management at the store you're interested in working, to see what positions they have open and ask questions regarding pay rate. If they have a position you're interested in and when they're ready to bring you into their team, you'll go into the Wire and request a transfer. The Personnel office should be able to help you at any step along the way.

How long can you wait to pick up a Moneygram transfer?

According to the moneygram website, a receiver has just over a year to pick up sent money.

Just keep in mind that Western Union and moneygram are unsafe and unsecure ways to send money.

Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off the cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country the money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever.

If you google "Western Union scam", "fraud moneygram scammer" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts from victims and near-victims who lost money via Western Union and moneygram.

I work at McDonald's; how long until I can transfer?

You may apply for work anywhere, and if they hire you, you submit your resignation, with 2 weeks notice, and start the new job. You can't transfer between unrelated companies, you apply and might be hired if they like you.

However, it is customary NOT to hop from job to job, simply because you think you might want to work someplace different. It makes you look risky, flighty and not reliable. You should stick it out for at least another 6-9 months, you might learn something about how the business world works.

You could apply, part time, and select your availability for the two jobs so you could work BOTH job, just alternate days or nights/weekends, etc. That could give you an opportunity to learn about the ice cream shop, and see if it really is what you want to do, and then tell McDonalds to take a hike, when you're ready to move on to full time.

Not many ice cream shops are hiring during the winter months, as business doesn't often pick up until May. McDonald's stays busy all year round, and can give you more hours while the ice cream shop will likely lay people off after the summer months.
