Is my toe broken or sprained?
Okay, so i was playing with my friend last night, and we were kicking a stuffed animal around, when i kicked the floor instead of the animal. i had an INTENSE amount of pain in my big toe for about 10 minutes, and then i was at least able to get up off the floor. so i put ice on it afterward, and then went to sleep. i woke up in the morning, and it still hurt, even though i was just lying there in bed without pressure or moving it. i put more ice on it off and on all day, and i still cannot walk normally, and it hurts to put pressure on it or flex it very far. i am not sure if it is broken or not, but there isnt too much swelling (my friends dad said their would be more if i broke it), but what scares me is that i think i can hear a little crack when i move the toe side to side. my mother wont take me to the hospital, because the nurse on the phone said there isnt much they can do even if it is broken. so i am sitting here freaking out, wondering if its broken or not. im scared that if it is broken, if i keep moving it i will make it worse, and that when i walk (well, limp) it may hinder the healing. help me!!! tell me what i can do please?
How to heal sprained toe?
I sprained my pinky toe this afternoon. My friend slammed it under a door. It started bleeding about 30 minutes ago when i had to walk home. I'm home now and I really really need my foot to heal for march break. I have one more day of school left before I'm done. So basically I'm wondering if i should skip school tomorrow and stay home, and how I should heal my toe???
How long to heal a sprained toe?
I think i sprained my toe. It's really swollen on the knuckle area, and has a light bruise covering most of the knuckle. It's very painful, very hard to walk.. and the pain woke me up quite a bit throughout the night. I am just wondering how long it will take to heal, as i have a bjj tournament in 10 days.

Well, if you have iced it for the first 24 hours and the swelling has stopped, it is time to get the blood flowing through there to speed up the healing process. So now it is time to start adding heat for short periods of time. Alternated with ice, you can expect to recover a little faster. As you know, it's hard to splint a toe, but taping it to your other toe may ease the pain of putting on a sock. If swelling persists, make sure you keep it elevated above the heart as much as possible.
What can I substitute for medical tape when fixing a sprained toe?
i used electrical tape when i jammed my finger instead of medical tape, however the electrical tape was kinda gummy, and a sprained toe would generally take about 2-3 weeks to heal
How long does a broken or sprain toe take to heal?
I got up to use the bathroom early this morning and on the way back to my room I kicked my 5 lb dumb bell. After swearing for five minutes, I just went back to bed the best I could. I noticed it was a little blue this morning before I took a shower, but it just seems to be getting more blue as the hours pass. I am just wondering how long is the pain going to last, so I will kinow how long I will have to limp around like a cripple!? Thanks!
