I make $800 a week. How much will that be after taxes?

It depends on your federal and state (and sometimes city) tax rate. That depends on your annual income and a bunch of other things... like the number of dependents you have.Simplest case, you earn $800 in two weeks, equals $10.00 per hour. You work 1920 hours in a year. Your gross income is $19,200. You are in the 15% (marginal) tax bracket, so you owe 10% of the first $9,225 in income, and 15% of income in excess of $9,225, which comes to total tax due of $2418.75.Thus 12.60% of your total gross wages will be paid for federal income tax. Your $800 after taxes is $699.22 (take home pay), assuming you don't pay state income tax where you are.

How do people work 80-100 hours a week and not get burnt out?

Wow, I'll leave the detailed advice up to people who work 80-100 hr weeks. I don't work this schedule myself (I opted out once I saw what really happens), so take my advice with a grain of salt : The people I know of who work 80-100 hour weeks don't lead very balanced lives. They often pay a heavy price (especially in mental/physical health and in relationships) for their work schedules. Everybody - no matter how rich, poor, young, old, smart, not smart is given 24 hours in each day. Some people develop 'hacks' to optimize their time, but time is an equalizer. No one gets more hours in the day. You'll get whatever you prioritize in life. If you're working 80-100 hour weeks, you'll get more work and (maybe) career success. If you prioritize health, you'll get better health. Relationships, same. There really isn't a way to work 100 hrs each week and prioritize all three - or even two of the three. At 100 hours a week, you're working and sleeping (if you get the required 8 hours), toss in your commute time and personal care - eating, bathroom breaks, showers, washing hair - and you're basically a work machine. It's doable for a week or two, but as a lifestyle I've seen people crack up over working 100 hour weeks. First to go are relationships and they often become estranged from their family friends. Next is sleep. After a few months, they look like the walking dead. Finally is health in general - they start gaining (or losing) weight and become pale (usually from sitting inside all day). They become sick often or start having inexplicable accidents (I think it's caused by sleep deprivation).Eventually the person quits or moves into a less pressured role. Once this happens, their lives come back into balance. You'd be shocked how many people doing this are on drugs and stimulants (and I am not talking coffee) to keep going. A lot of 100 hr weeks are fueled by drugs - some prescription and some not. Once I saw what was going on behind the scenes at these 100 hr a week companies, I wanted NONE of it. What was really surprising is that people who worked 100 hr weeks were no more efficient than people who worked 60 hr weeks.  They needed to put in 'face time' at the office. A good night's sleep and life balance would have likely made them much more efficient.

How many hours a week does Mark Zuckerberg actually work at the Facebook office?

I sit near Mark at FBHQ so I'll speak from my experience. He often arrives every morning before I do and is around after dinner working as well. I would say he is in the office roughly 9-10 hours a day, 5 days a week. Sometimes we have particularly exciting projects going on that have people volunteering their weekends and Mark might come by and see how things are going.Mark occasionally travels and isn't in the office, but it seems like it's more likely that his appointments come to our headquarters than vice versa.I should say that it's great to have him around with regularity and that he chooses to have the same desk set up as everyone else. He takes his job very seriously not just as a businessman but as a leader; he has helped keep our company culture what it is.

If I'm on minimum wage how long would it take to make 10,000 dollars?

Divide the number 10,000 by $7.25. It comes out to 1,379 hours of work. If you work a 40 hour week, then it will take 34 1/2 weeks to earn that $10,000. However--- this doesn't account for the income taxes that will be deducted. If we figure you're in the lowest bracket, you'll be giving up 15% of our pay to Uncle Sam.

This means it will take longer:

40 hours at $7.50 = $300 per week less 15% = $255 per week. It will take a little more than 39 weeks.

This assumes you spend none of your earnings.

I make 300 a week as a nanny......???

Your making 8.57 an hour. Whether or no you are getting paid enough depends on your age and if you have been with the for a year or if you just started. I do think they should pay for gas. Figure out how many miles it is to the gym and back, and figure out how much that costs you per week in gas, if is is more than $2-3 I would ask for reimbursement.
With the 400 a week for 40 hours for 2 kids, I think 10 an hour is good.
If you have a college degree, I think you should be getting 10 and hour even with only one kid. If you don't have a college degree, the $8.57 you are getting now is good, but only with a $0.25 raise at least every year. Most nanny's work long than you are and have more than one kid, so that is why their salaries seem to be better than yours.

**Now that you added your age, I think you should get paid like $13-$15 an hour at least, maybe more, especially b/c you have lots of experience.

What should I do to make an extra $300/$500 a week? How much do I have to invest?

How much does a car salesman earn from commission from selling a vehicle?

There's a lot that goes into the answer obviously, but it could be anywhere between a couple hundred and upwards of a couple thousand; depending on the value of the car, how many cars you have sold that month, etc. For selling an average, let's say $20k-$30k Chevy however, I would say between $250 and $400.It can get a lot more complicated though, where in salesmen receive a base pay each month in the event they don't sell any cars, or enough cars. The salesmen usually get to pick this base pay, but they are required to pay it back the following month through more sales. If they get too far in the negative, they aren't required to pay it back but they are usually let go.Some dealerships (usually ones that deal in less volume) will pay their salesmen salary instead of straight commission, with bonuses for total cars sold. For example I remember a certain Subaru Dealership that paid its salesmen $500 per month, plus bonus. I believe that they were required to sell x-amount per month though to retain their job, where as commission based sales can be more flexible.Believe it or not, selling new cars is actually the least profitable (per car) exchange that dealerships perform, behind the used car department and the service department (the service dept. being the most profitable). The "New Car" side may make more total money than their used car department, due to volume, but the mark up on used cars is much greater than new ones. I worked at a new car dealership for the used car side (I was their lot boy/porter for 5 years) and let me tell you the used car dept. was where everyone wanted to be. You could easily make $500 - $1000 (or more, even a few thousand) on a single car easily, being that used cars don't have a defined price like new cars do.I would just like to throw out there though, that buying a used car at a new car dealership is the safest and cheapest way to buy a used car. I was in charge of "booking out" all of our used car inventory (I would look up each car's value on Kelly Blue Book, Black Book, NADA, and one private site) and we would frequently price cars a thousand or more less than their average retail price. This was only possible because of how much volume we pushed (we were the #1 Chevy dealership in our region for selling Used Cars for many many years).

What jobs pay over minimum wage?

Right now, I'm a senior.
"I JUST GOT A BRAND NEW CAR"

2010 S Corolla

Costing me about $18,000

I currently work at Subway. *I'm just got a job there*
I worked there for 3 days so far.........
and I make minimum wage - $7.25
I really don't have any work experience, besides using the cash register and making sandwiches.
I so far work "ONLY" 5 hours a day.
so if you do the math.....

5 hours X $7.25 X 5 days = around $150 (including tax, etc)

-Senior
-3 days of work experience
-Can use the cash register
-Sandwich artist

Btw I don't care how many hours I get. I just need a job that gives me about 10 HOURS day.
I will definetly work everyday.
10 hours per day, 7 days

I go to high school and I get out at 10:30 A.M, and I'm willing to work till 12:00 P.M

I'm a hard worker.
My school GPA - 3.6
I can balance my schoolwork w/ that many hours.

I'm asking about 90 hours a week.

Most kids would complain about working this many hours, but I don't.
I've been through much worse..........like really.

please, advice?

What are some good investments and financial advice for a 21-year-old making $300-400 a week?

Pay Attention to both Saving and Investing (including investing in self-development, to be able to earn more in the future).I 'm assuming that you already know about few basic common sense topics like No Drugs (don't even try, it's not worth it because so many people die every year with drug overdosage), don't be a parent of unplanned child, don't fall for Get Rich Quick schemes, steer clear of troubles etc.Irrespective of where do you live and how expensive is the living standard in the city, here are the few tips that would help you keep on the right track for the financial and personal successes at your age of 21.1. Needs vs. Wants - Always ask this questions before making a purchase or spending money: do you really need it? Can you live a good life without it? That does not mean that you don't' have fun with your family and friends, go on vacations etc. but you can decide to go on vacation and spend 10s of thousands vs. few hundred and still have the same level of fun and create good memories.2. Sharing vs. Living by Yourself - If you are single, you must always share an accommodation to reduce your cost of living.3. Eating Healthy at Home vs. Easting Outside - If you prepare your own meal, at least one meal of the day, you decide what ingredients go in it and it's always cheaper and you must make it healthier.4. Invest in Yourself - keeping adding to your educational and professional credentials, keep developing the network of people who are more successful than you are, spend time with people who more driven to success, and always keep healthy eating and exercise habits.5. Invest the Money Saved and Wisely - Don't take the bets and don't' gamble. Develop the habits of a disciplined investor - diversify, dollar cost averaging, rebalancing the portfolio on a quarterly basis. Personally, I'm a big fan of Vandard.com's Index Funds (ww.vanguard.com).
