How to uninstall a sims 3 update?
unfortunately you cannot uninstall updates as far as I know, what you will have to do is reinstall The Sims 3, and then restore your saves, which I will explain how to do. Start by going to your 'Documents' folder, and clicking "Electronic Arts". Find the folder that is named "The Sims 3" and copy paste it to the desktop. Then uninstall The Sims 3, restart, then install it again. After you have done that, you will need to restore the saves, by loading up The Sims 3, then quitting it. Then paste the "The Sims 3" folder on the desktop into the same directory as it was before. It will ask if you want to replace the current files, click Yes To All, and then you should have your saves back. However, you might need to repatch it to the point before the patch that created the problem, and reinstall any custom content you had. I HIGHLY recommend leaving the patch on, however, as they are there for a reason (I believe they made your problem because they didn't want to overpopulate the neighbourhood which would lead to a slowdown in the game). When I was trying to install university for sims 3, it told me that an update was required to install it. I clicked install, but it won't show me how far it is or the estimated time it will take, it just says " update in progress. Please wait... Depending on how much space you have on your computer, hold old it is, and how slow it normally is makes the game load slower or faster. If you have a newer computer chances are the game is going to load faster, and vice versa. I've bought almost all the expansion packs and each one had a different loading time- and each one is fairly slow! The updates are usually the same. It's nothing to worry about, it's just the computer reading everything off the disk to play it! But if you find it's taking TOO long (if it does it again when updating I'd check) see if there are a lot of old junk you don't need on your computer and get rid of it, also, check to see if there are any corrupted Custom Content filling up your Game Memory and Harddrive. I also bought The Sims 3 today... I was really excited to play it because I had the day off, and I bought it around 1 o'clock... as soon as I got home I began the install. But now it's 3:50... and it's STILL not finished installing! I have 2 little bars left but they take forever. I have no idea why it's going so slow... I thought Sims 3 was supposed to be better... but maybe there's too much content for one CD! As far as I know about cheats for teenagers, nope. Don't think so. Hope your install goes faster!

Sims 3 is a HUGE program. It will probably take a while for it to download. Try to be patient. When the download sticks, is the hard drive on your computer still working? If it is then files 206 and 207 must be larger than the others. If the hard drive isn't working, then there is a technical issue with the installation process. It would be best to wait and see if Maxis can fix the problem.
