How is it true that we eat at least 10 spiders in our lifetime?

It isn’t true. It is a myth spread by people who are willing to accept any “fact” they happen upon over the internet, although the true origin is not clear. Spiders are fearful creatures whose main focus in life is to survive. A sleeping human moves and rolls around, likely deterring any spiders from crawling around anywhere near us, and the likelihood of them actually crawling into a hot wet breathing orifice (which is only possible if you sleep with an open mouth) us next to nothing. It would be much more likely, and has occurred, that spiders crawl into your ears since those are much milder orifices, mostly dry and unmoving, although again, this doesn’t really happen while you sleep, and generally only occurs when somewhat prompted (putting a spider on your face, where they would not normally go could prompt a spider in your ear). Of course that isn’t to say there is no possibility of a spider accidentally finding it’s way into your bed (as it did when I woke up one morning to a tickling sensation on my arm, reached over to scratch it, and ended up grabbing a reasonably sized spider off my arm while half asleep; this however occurred while I was sleeping in a half open hut with girl scouts, so the amount of spiders is increased by a lot). It’s simply not true that we eat that many spiders, or any spiders, that we do not actively put in our mouths and chew, the likelihood is just too low. It may have happened once or twice in the past 300 years if at all, and more possibly it may have occurred back when we slept outside, but even then the chances are so low that a spider would actively crawl into a mouth that it’s absolutely silly to assume that we eat 10 spiders a year. It’s more likely that we don’t eat a single spider in our sleep during our entire lifetime.http://mentalfloss.com/article/5...

How many insects does a garden spider eat in a week?

Highly variable, and depends on a lot of different things. My own observations imply that different spiders have different habits. They will tend to capture and store whatever is caught in the web, however, they may not repair or remake their web if extremely well-fed (I have observed this recently, personally). The spider I observed appeared to be sensitive to how recently she had fed and the size or number of meals, and on some nights would not reconstruct the web. A basic guess for a general number would be 0 to 7 insects daily. But again, highly variable depending upon the spider’s size, species, situation and many other variables.

How many insects does the average person accidentally consume in their lifetime?

Not sure how many whole insects, but maybe half a million insect fragments. That’s about a quarter pound.Unless you live entirely on Oregano. Then you could eat 50 lbs. or 100 million fragments. The insects you eat are almost entirely accidentally in your food. Insects and spiders almost never crawl into your mouth when you are asleep. We should eat more insects, intentionally. How many spiders do we eat per night?

Well, I would assume we eat a few in our life time without knowing, but I wouldn't think everynight, I mean some of the most common spiders are poisonous, so we would prob, be dead if we ate them every night. The most deadly spider, the daddy long leg, humans are protected by the spiders hinged jaw,it cannot bite us because of that hinged jaw.
Spiders are everywhere...it is said that we are at least one spider within a 3 foot square radius.
