How Much Credit Do You Have To Have To Qualify For Sprint Phone Plans

Do you have to have credit to get a cell phone??

They ALL do the "Down payment" thing. I've heard you get that money back after you pay your bill on time a few times, but... it's all the same.

What you can do, and I'm not kidding, is go to a store that offers account "Credit cards" such as Target, Best Buy, you know, a place like that, and ask for apply for a membership card.

Then, buy somethnig from that store that you need/want and then pay it off (make SURE you have the money to buy it before you start making payments on it, so you don't have to worry about being able to pay for the item or not)

That'll build some credit... but yeah, all cell phone companies are like that.

Sorry. :(

I hope this helps you!

Do you have to have good credit to get Sprint?

My moms has medium credit and I'm under 18... so I can't sign a contract (yet). But I need to know if I buy a sprint phone in a sprint store or authorized retailer. Would it normally go through.. also we went to try to get a new phone at wallmart they had tmobile,at&t and Verizon. No Sprint. My mom got approved for T-Mobile but she didn't get approved for verizon or at&t. Because she got approved for T-Mobile do you think she'll get approved by sprint?...

Do i qualify for a sprint phone?

You should be able to get a phone. I used to work there. If you have bad credit, most likely you can get a phone but would have to pay a deposit and would have a spending limit. also you may be charged $4.99 unless you set up autopay. You can call sprint and they can run your credit on the spot when you ask to open an account. you dont have to add a line right there and then, but they will open an account and let you know what you are eligible for. really easy!

Does sprint do a credit check?

Hi.To even sign a contract, you have to be at least 18 years or older. Since you are 16 Sprint won't allow you to sign a contract. About the credit check, yes Sprint does have one. A deposit would depend on your credit. No credit could mean paying $500 or even $1000. Once you do turn 18,I suggest heading to your local Sprint store. Then see how much your deposit would be. I had no credit when I went to Sprint and was told to fork over $500.I didn't have that kind of money. Then I went to a Sprint store & the guy there lowered it for me to only $150. i think he really wanted commission in all so that is why he did it.

In order to get a sprint cell phone do you have to have good credit?

No, you pay cash or debit or whatever to get it. Then the monthly payment's are what actually build up your credit. They only build up the credit if you pay it off on time though. Whatever you have to make payments on and as long as the payments are under your name. It all goes into your credit report/score.

Typically people get a cellphone before they get credit at all.

They make you pay a deposit and if you do good on your payments they will allow you to keep your phone, and give you your deposit back fully. (without keeping the money and taking you off of sprint for not paying...that is how they get back at you if you have no credit built up)

Hope this info helps!

Can I get a cell phone plan without any credit history?

Have you tried going to them? even with no history? The deposit I think is like $50.... or something like that. But they GIVE IT BACK to you. Whatever the price of the deposit is. You CAN have a parent sign.... but the bill would come in their name and they would be responsible for paying. I share a plan with my brother right now. We had our provider give me "Full access" to the account meaning, I could sign a contract if I wanted to, change my plan at any time, add features, etc... It works very well for me. Plus, having a shared plan saves me money :) If they do reject you, have a parent sign it. That way they can pay the bill online without any late fees, worrying about mail, and, you can even ask your parents to give you their credit (or debit...) card info which you can store on your phone which means you could use your phone to pay the bill. Thereby keeping up on your bill. I do it all the time :)

How do I start a contract with Sprint with no credit?

First thing to know. Cell phone service does not build your credit. Cell phone carriers do not report favorable information to the credit bureaus because that costs money. They will only report negative data. If this is the only reason you want a cell phone contract, get a prepaid.

You will have to pay a security deposit. The amount will depend on your credit score, the phone you choose and the plan you want or that's required. A free phone and basic plan could be as little as a $250 deposit. A smart phone with a smart phone plan could be over $500.

How can i get a cell phone with bad credit without putting down a deposit?

It depends on where you live. Many companies offer deposit systems where you get your deposit back after a certain time period, with interest. U. S. Cellular, if you live in the Midwest is a good investment. Other than that, some companies that have pre-paid services will take your good payment history on that account as a suggestion or precursor of what your payments will be like on a post pay plan.

Are there any cell phone plans with only data + text?

Carriers are slowly trying to phase these plans out under the guise of offering 'a complete solution' but in reality only nets them a smaller amount of revenue for your business.  This transition away from these plans has left a bit of a power vacuum that prepaid plans are more than happy to fill.  T-mobile offers a $30 "unlimited" (throttled at 2GB) data, texting on prepaid, but with some major caveats. The first being that you can only get it either at Walmart or on T-mobile's website. Don't expect a deal on the handset either because there is no contract involved so the phones will be probably $200 at a minimum. Verizon only offers text & data plans to those with a documented disability or to their larger business customersAT&T offers a similar plan like T-mobile but only 500mb and is priced at $45.00 a month. Similarly to T-Mobile they will charge a much higher upfront cost for the phone. Sprint took the same road that Verizon did and restricted their data/text only plans to people with disabilities or business customers. Plans from prepaid providers like virgin mobile & boost are in the similar price range but offer more data, but throw in voice. All in all you're not gonna find a plan on contract that gives you just data/text unless you meet their criteria or have an insanely large account with them (I.E hundreds of lines) so prepaid is probably your best option
