How Should I Go About Sending In A Call Off Work Sick Message

What is the best way to call in sick from work?

Do not write or speak about anything you did that day on the internet, or on the phone.  Until you at least leave that job.  Hopefully you know how to keep your mouth shut, and what you're doing on this day off isn't so amazing that you have to tell people.Make sure whoever you're with that day is equally discreet.Do not go to anywhere near places your colleagues might go to during lunch or for an errand. If you have to tell someone on the phone, do it as your waking up, before you clear your throat or have a drink of water.  You'll sound sicker.  A family member or friend calling in is much better.  Or a descriptive email.  Once you start talking about bodily juices, your manager likely will want to cut off the conversation and give you the thumbs up.Be very vague and brief.  If you were sick, you wouldn't be talking much anyway.  The more you say, the bigger a lie you have to remember later. Also, realize that you MIGHT be a bit exhausted in general.  That's a form of illness, as far as your concerned.  Whether or not your manager would agree, if you convince yourself you're not well (to what degree is debatable), then you'll have an easier time convincing your boss.Choose a readily available primary care physician that's got your back.  If you're exhausted, you should be able to make a quick appointment and get a doctor's note saying you need a day or two off.Make sure you cover your trail afterward.  Make sure whatever you do doesn't get back to your employer.  If you're at a concert, don't buy the T-shirt, and avoid the front, where you might get filmed.  Make sure if your car is missing from your driveway that day, that you have a reasonable story about why it's missing. If your boss finding out is that much of a threat, always keep your eye on the job market, because likely you might get axed for some other silly reason later.

What should I say to my boss when calling out sick?

As soon as the voice message kicks in, say something simple and sweet:

"Hi {boss's name}, I won't be in today as I'm not feeling too well. However, I'll try to be in the office tomorrow. Should you need anything, please feel free to call me back or leave a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks."

Hope that helps

Call off at work i was sick and throwing up and my manager told me to come in?

It was 10pm in caili. I woke up and blasted puke all over the place. I had my girfirend call my work and my boss didnt answer. So she left a message (i start work at midnight) he textes me and says who ever you are jason needs to call me. At this time i was passing out on the toilet (a not because of drinking didnt have any) so i call my boss and he says you better be there we have no one to cover i told him i am puking all over the place and i might need to go to the hospital. He said we have no one to cover the i said fine i will come in a puke all over the place there. We hung up the phone. I go to work and he said he has the same thing. I puke right in front of him and he just looks at me like wtf he then calls another officer to relive me. Is there and legal action or something i can do because i should have been driving and shouldnt be forced to work. He also said he was going to wright me up because my girlfriend called and not me. Like wtf can i do i feel he was in the wrong to tell me i have to work instead of going to the hospital or i was going to get fired.

Sending a text message to say you are calling in sick to work?

Ok - background on our office 'rules': When calling in sick, we are supposed to try and contact our boss. If she doesn't answer, we are supposed to leave her a voicemail and then contact two of our co-workers to be sure that someone in the office knows you aren't going to be there.

This morning a co-worker of mine left a voicemail for our boss (our boss is out of the office today in a meeting). The girl who called in sick also supposedly sent a TEXT MESSAGE to two of my co-workers. Funny thing is, neither one of them got it. So, when she never showed up, we called her to make sure she was ok, and she got all shitty with us. We basically told her that when she calls in sick, she should really leave a voicemail to make sure that someone gets it, because text messages don't always go through. She's pissed. *Sigh*

So... What do you guys think? When calling in sick, should you leave a voicemail or send a text message?

I want to call in sick for work tomorrow, any good suggestions...?

Just call in and say you won't be able to make it in today (tomorrow). Don't waste your time or your employer's making up some lame story.

As long as it's not something you do regularly, most bosses don't even care why you call in as long as you give them a proper head's-up and you're not ducking out of a very important meeting or presentation etc. Most major companies don't require a doctor's note unless you miss 5 or more consecutive days, so I wouldn't worry about that either. If they DO ask for a note, just come clean and say you don't have one. It's usually easier to ask for forgiveness than permission anyway.

How to tell your boss you're sick and can't work?

Im working tomorrow but ive been off school for the past two days with the flu. I work part
time obviously cause I'm only 14. How to I tell my boss I can't work tomorrow cause I'm really sick (I'm kind of scared of my boss) I have to do this over text message too.

Is it ok to leave a voicemail when calling in sick to work?

I just called my boss to let her know that I need to take a sick day and I got her voicemail. I left her a message but for some reason it just seems weird to not actually speak with her when calling in. Was the voicemail ok or should I wait and try her back later? I told her to call me back if she needs to.

Calling In Sick For School?

Ok, so, I'm gonna call myself in sick from school tomorrow. I'm gonna call the attendance office before school even starts so I can just leave a message on the voice mail, do you think they'd try and give a call back after they receive the message? Or do you think they'd be too busy dealing with other things to respond to a voice message somebody left earlier that morning?
