YPbPr vs Coax Cable for my HDTV with non-HD cable box?

yes you will.....if there is DNR on your tv , make it ON for quality improvement .

How can I subscribe to HD channels if I have the HD set-top box (cable TV)?

An STB subscription can be renewed any time. Just contact the operator and pay the subscription charges. Also check with operator if they provide HD channels. If they do, you’ll be able to receive the same.

Xbox one tv option with no cable box?

Unless I'm completely misunderstanding your current setup, you don't need any adapter. Just use the Coax Input to your TV for your Cable TV and use the HDMI Input for the Xbox One. Then just switch Inputs on your HDTV (from RF - Radio Frequency - coaxial to HDMI 1 or 2 or whatever the Xbox is plugged into). Is there some reason this very simple arrangement won't work for you? I know Microsoft wants the Xbox One to be the hub of your entertainment system, but why complicate things with converters (and passive adapters won't do the HDMI digital audio/video signal conversion to the RF digital - ATSC - signals you would need for your TV's digital tuner).
If there are other circumstances I am unaware of, write back with Additional Details with why this suggestion won't work - otherwise just keep using your TV tuner to tune your HD cable channels, then switch inputs with your remote control to HDMI for Xbox, OK? Good luck

Is there any way to bypass Xfinity cable boxes to get free cable channels?

You can try, but I doubt itSome (though very few) Cable companies offer “Basic” Cable channels in the clear (ClearQAM), meaning you can get some digital channels by just connecting the coax to your TV and doing a scan, keep in mind though that very few “ClearQAM” channels will be in HD (you may be able to get local channels in HD, the rest will just be SD)The Cable companies that do offer ClearQAM channels are usually the little guys, which use it as a perk for people to go with them vs. the big guys like Charter Spectrum or Comcast Xfinity, where I live, the only Cable company to do this is Wide Open WestThis is why I say I doubt it, since Comcast Xfinity is one of the big guys, they tend to encrypt all their channels, meaning the ClearQAM Tuner in your TV can’t pick them up, resulting in just a black screen or a “No Signal” message (or possibly a scan picking up 0 channels)The big guys could easily offer their basic lineup in the clear if they wanted to, but they don’t as an excuse to get subscribers to rent STBs and DVRs (or CableCARDs) per each TV (more TVs, more boxes. More boxes, more rental income)For subscribers that only want basic channels on a certain TV, but don’t want to pay the rental charge for a full STB or DVR, they usually offer mini STBs (or a DTA as Comcast calls it) that only receive (and decrypt) basic channels, and only in SD (with only coaxial output, at least on the older ones), for a reduced monthly rental feeApparently the new DTAs do support HD and have an HDMI portYour best bet is looking around for another Cable company that services your area (if there is one) that offers ClearQAM channels

Which cable operator's setup box provides HD channels?

There are many cable operator's set-top box providers in the market. But all are not genuine and all are not giving the best services to their customers. I searched online, then I found one best cable operator is IPTV. IPTV is the best setup provider in the market. Nowadays all are taking services from this provider only, even I am also took services from there. I like their packages, plans, services and high-quality pictures. If you want the best provider then look for this provider only and I am very sure you will like it.

How can you legally have HD channels without having a cable box?

TV is still broadcast over the airwaves. With a digital receiver you can receive your local stations: CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, and whatever else they have it your city.

Which is better in India: a DTH or a cable operator's set top box?

First ask yourself -1. Do I have a 40" or bigger TV?2. Can I spend minimum Rs 300+ in every month for TV channels?3. Can I manage my family members if they are not able to see their favourite TV show while your neighbor (having cable TV) revealing the detail of "Saas Bahu" drama?4. Can I pay service charge if there are any issues with DTH installation or STB?If all the above answers are YES then go for DTH. Otherwise cable TV STB can also provide good picture with affordable price depending on your local cable operator reputation. All the so called DTH features are not free. Please check the list below -HD & 4K - Double the cost of SD pack. This is linked with Q1.Recording facility - Chargeable depending on operatorChoice of pack - Ends up with unnecessary channelsChoice of channels - Too costlyValue added services - ChargeableVideo on Demand - Chargeable24*7 Customer service - UselessIn Monsoon (July to September) - Useless. This is linked with Q3 and most annoying issue of DTH. Till now there is no solution for this. DTH operator sales person may tell you that recently the service is using MPEG4 technology to solve this but that is a white lie.Issue with DTH installation, Set Top Box etc - Chargeable for each visit of technician. This is linked with Q4.So in summary if you have a sufficient budget to spend on TV channels then you may think of DTH as the available options are more than cable TV. For small TV it really does not matter if your cable TV operator is providing good service.

Can you get hd directly from the cable without the cable company's box?

The answer is most likely no. TV channels are transmitted as analog or digitally encoded. HD channels are all digitally transmitted and will require set-top box provided by cable provider to decode it to a format understandable by your TV. If the channel was transmitted in analog format, directly connecting to TV would work.

HD cable box connected to receiver, how to operate TV only without receiver powered on?

I have Samsung LED TV, Yamaha RX-V373 receiver, and Comcast HD cable box.
The cable box HD HDMI wire is plugged to the receiver, and one HDMI cable from receiver(HDMI out) going into the TV. (along with the coaxial cable from wall to TV)

When the receiver is off, I have no TV signal. When receiver is on, I can only get the volume from receiver speakers, and not the TV speakers. My question is, what do I have to do to make the TV operable without the receiver, like the receiver never exists? (TV only has one HDMI plug, and I do have other devices like blue ray hooked to the receiver)
