well first, i am black but im not dark skinned. I'm kinda in the middle but i have a hint of "yellow" to my skin. Well... Tumblr girls are normally very pretty. So wear lots of make-up (foundation/mascara/eye-shadow/lipstick/... Then dress really nicely. So leopard print skirts/leggings or black pants with converse or vans shoes or really high heels. You cant give yourself a different look so work with what you have try to emphasize all your best features like if you pretty colored eyes try eyeliner or if you have pretty skin try tinted moisturizer and maybe a little blush or bronzer all skin tones can be beautiful if you exercise and eat well drink plenty of water because a healthy body will always show. and if you want a different wardrobe get some magazines like seventeen go on ebay and different websites and try to decide what style would compliment you.. and also a hair tip i found really long ago tht made a huge difference to my hair is use less shampoo and more conditioner because it strips hair and mix together 1/4 cup honey and an egg massage and comb through hair once or twice a week and after a few uses your hair will be full and shiny.

How to be pretty/ take pictures like a tumblr girl?
Okay I'm a new model that just got into the modeling business (.trying to make a career out of it by booking people on Model Mayhem) so ive had LOTS of experience with angles, etc. There are so many places to start, but basically knowing your basic angles helps. For example, the photographers back should always be against the light source. (The sun or artificial lighting). Your face's angle should always be following the direction of the light. This helps with getting the light to hit you perfectly and prevent weird shadows that can reflect under your eyes, etc. I used to be into that 'scene' or emo stuff when I was 15 so I was a wanna be site model but I actually took some decent pics so trust me I have self photography experience xD Anyways, for MAKEUP, the camera can sometimes not pick up accurate color of your face. You may want to intensify your makeup just a bit. Also, take a concealer stick that it about a shade or two lighter than your skin tone and swipe it down the bridge of your nose. Pat it in a bit so it just looks like a highlight. This creates dimension on a model's face so your nose doesn't look flat. Always try to use natural light in your photos (which usually creates more stunning photos). Use a tripod. Your hand can shake a bit when u take the Pic, you need really clear focus. Also for makeup, to look more flawless (or for an airbrushed look) use MATTE foundation instead of liquid. Then take a translucent powder and buff it in. For the actual facial -expressions, raise your eye brows a bit and use Tyra Bank's slogan, "smile with the eyes." Sounds cheesy, but results in a face that doesn't have sleepy eyes, etc. Basically just an open squint and look directly in the camera. What also helps is looking down and then up into the lens right before the flash. As for posing with your body, it just takes practice. By that, I mean you have to try to mimic other tumblr model's poses best as you can. For editing in photoshop, just look up youtube tutorials on INENSIFYING the eyes and flawless skin.
