How To Print Text Document That Has Dark Background

Thermal printer printing on black background?

Hi,
My thermal printer (BTP2002NP Serial Thermal Printer), seems to be printing out a black background, and making the letters/text by not printing. It also prints out weird characters. The bar code does not print anymore, either. (picture below) What could be causing this?

How can I make a pdf document darker for printing?

I need to print about 300 pages of text that I've scanned. I scanned in grayscale because there are about three shades I need to preserve, but when I print it they are all too light. The printer settings are at maximum darkness, ink is full, and test page printed nice and dark. How can I increase the contrast in the pdf document/make the text darker? Bearing in mind I need to do this to about 300 pages, it must be some kind of automatic setting or automated process. I'm using Adobe Reader X, and I have Photoshop CS3 at my disposal.

How do I make text white and background a darker color (reverse-out) in Word?

Word is a word processor, and the functionality you are looking for can really only be effectively achieved using software such as adobe illustrator or in design. In word, you can try playing with Word art or by creating a black box and the text box on top of that. Changing the color to white is the same as changing the color to yellow or red… just click the palette and choose white.Try and remember that paper is white, so therefore you would have to print the black and not the white. Choose the Right Colors in PowerPoint

If you've tried to apply the color rules that you use in Word documents or print media to your PowerPoint slides, you already know that the rules of color work a little differently in PowerPoint. Although printed documents are mainly printed on white sheets of paper, your PowerPoint presentation may never be printed at all and the slide backgrounds may not be white. In this article, I explain how you can use color effectively in PowerPoint. In addition to the background color, I also explore wise color choices for other slide elements such as text, shapes, diagrams, and charts.
Selecting a Background Color

First, let's look at the background. If you are comfortable with a white background, you certainly can use it. White does have the virtue of all colors in the spectrum working well with it. As long as you follow basic rules of contrast, such as avoiding light yellow text on a white background, you shouldn't have too many problems.

However, with that said, white is not most people's favorite presentation background color at all. If you thought that blue is the favorite background color, then you were right. A blue slide projected or shown on a computer is comfortable to view. Dark blue backgrounds with white or yellow text work well,

Other cool colors like green and violet work well too – however stay away from bright and fluorescent greens. Black works great too – most light and bright colors work well with black. Warm colors such as red, orange, and yellow do not make great presentation backgrounds.

No matter what color you use as a background, make sure that either white or black text placed over that color is legible and contrasting as you can see in Figure 3. If neither black nor white text works with a particular slide background color, stay away from that color,

What is the best font color for text on a white background screen? Are there any studies to back this up in terms of optimal readability?

High contrast color pairs, such as black and white, can create a sense of vibration on the screen and stress the eyes. To increase readability, I often use a very, very dark gray with a hint of hue. While a matter of personal preference, there is indeed some color theory in here:http://www.writer2001.com/colweb...http://www.tigercolor.com/color-...http://www.pivotcomm.com/how-to/...It is important to remember that computer screens are a projection and thus have much higher black/white contrast than the typical reflective printed page. This increased contrast can quickly cause eyestrain. As a result, some viewers will ignore your text. To that end, many web designers prefer off-black type on white backgrounds.- A Guide to Web Typography

What background colours are ideal to use when printing a combination of black text and white text?

In B&W photography, photographers use what is called a zone system. From Wikipedia: "The Zone System assigns numbers from 0 through 10[5] to different brightness values, with 0 representing black, 5 middle gray, and 10 pure white; these values are known as zones." Graphic designers/artists can also utilize this system for creating graphics that are easily viewable with white and/or black type. Simply choose a step 5 grey, one that is in the middle between black and white, so that both can be comfortably read against this background. You can see this in Photoshop by duplicating the background and removing the color/converting to B&W. Or taking a solid black and setting it to 50%. If you are dealing with a photo background, with varying densities, then you need to make a drop shadow behind the text in either black or white, or both. Set this in a layer behind the text, but offset by 3 to 5 pixels or whatever you think looks right.

Green words on black background?

If you are using Microsoft Word, you could simply change the page colour to black and set the font colour to green. Obviously, if you wanted to print the document you would have to change the colours back otherwise you would run out of ink very quickly!
