Boot.tidserv virus problem?
At approximately 7:15pm on Nov 5, my computer came down with the Boot.tidserv virus. Dozens of windows popped up saying how things have failed to complete. Knowing the danger of viruses, I clicked on nothing. I opened Norton antivirus and did a scan. It said it failed to remove the said virus. I opened windows explorer to try to back up on a thumb drive, and all the files disappeared before my eyes. Windows appeared and disappeared, and the taskbar looked like windows 8 even though I have windows 7. No web browser would open, and IE seemed to not even exist anymore. Half of my desktop icons were gone. After about 15 minutes, my computer, on its own accord, began to restart. When the glowung windows logo came on (the one during startup), the computer began a high pitched buzzing. Because restarts can be dangerous, I pulled the cord and ejected the battery. Now, as I write this from a phone, what should I do? I have some important videos in there, are they lost? Is there any hope? I have another working computer, so should I give up? Is there any way to remove the virus now? Help!
