How To Upgrade Re Code/get Re3 Waiver

Help with getting an RE code 3 waiver.?

I was in basic training for half a month before i was diagnosed with fluid build up on my sinuses. This caused shortness of breath and and wheezing. The doctors were not allowed to prescribe flownase in basic training and do to this i had to miss a lot of training. The drill sergeants decided that if this was going to be a continuous problem that recycling me was useless and just chaptered me out. My recruiters have been trying to get me back in be we have hit a snag that they are not sure how to get around. before i was chaptered out i was given a doctors appointment for a breathing test. I ended up being sent home before taking that test.Once home i had seen a doctor and the problem has now cleared up after 6 months. We sent up all of my medical files to MEP's that we had including the one that had my appointment date on it. Even though i didnt take the test MEP's is still asking for the test results. When i called up to the TMC i was told that they did not have any record of that appointment being made so they could not fax me a note stating that i had never taken the test. My recruiters say there is nothing that they can do. Is there anything that we are missing. If so please tell me. And if someone has rude comments to make just dont answer.

Chapter 5-17 and RE code 3?

your military days are over . a RE3 can be waived but HIGHLY unlikely . a honorable discharge is just that Honorable and should not show negative towards you

RE code 3 waivers this explains all?

so what's the question?

the bottom line: waivers are almsot IMPOSSIBLE to get in this recruting climate. record numbers trying to stay in, record numbers trying to GET in - out side of somehting very, very minor (like a dependant waiver, and that is not a sure thing), a waiver is not going to happen. there are just too many people trying to get in that do not need a waiver at all. they aren't going to bump someone that does not need a waiver to make room for someone that DOES need a waiver - just not going to happen.

Army discharged EPTS, desire reentry, waiting to find out RE code, knowledge of situation needed?

Since yours was an EPTS discharge, I gather it was for a history of chronic dislocation of the shoulder or instability of the shoulder joint, which is disqualifying under paragraph 2-11 (b) of AR 40-501 (Standards of Medical Fitness). That would also indicate a general discharge under honorable conditions with a reenlistment code of RE-4. The only possibility I can see for your re-entry is to document that the shoulder joint in question is stable. If you can't there is precious little reason for the Army to consider a waiver.
FYI, in 2004 there were 238 waiver requests submitted for unspecified joint disorders. Only 78 were approved. And this was for initial entry into the Army. Not for those trying to re-enter with an EPTS discharge.

How long do waivers take?

Your recruiter is out of line for just guessing as they did. You could wait a few days or up to 6+ months. You have to jump through lots of hoops to get a waiver for any RE-3 code. You got an RE-3 for a reason. You will now have to prove and reprove that whatever caused the RE-3 in the first place will never happen again. Not an easy task. The military would much rather start fresh with a brand new recruit that does not carry your RE-3 baggage. I don't want to shatter your hopes but it is not an easy task to get an RE-3 waiver approved at all so you better have a back up plan for employment if this does not work out for you. When I was at MEPS I rarely saw RE-3 waivers approved for the Navy. Not sure what branch you are trying to get back into but I wish you the best.

Re code 3, jfw, uncharaterized disharge.?

well Timothy / Tyler / Zeke….

I suspect there is something OTHER than a “Re code 3 characterized jfw” going on here. Perhaps there is a multiple personality disorder? A little OCD? Dude – you need to let it go. You are NOT getting back in. You need a new plan for life. military service is not going to be part of the plan.

For those who do not know: RE3 JFW means “Erroneous enlistment; Medical condition disqualifying for military service, with no medical waiver approved.”

What part of “no medical waiver approved” are YOU not understanding? Read it again. ‘no medical waiver approved’. Think about it. Read it again. ‘no medical waiver approved’. That’s it. You are DONE!

Even an RE3 would need a waiver – and that’s not going to happen in his recruiting climate. Recruiting is just too good!

If the RE3 wasn’t enough to sink your ship, the fact you are “prior service” makes it nearly impossible, and then the “JWF” is the nail in the coffin. You watch baseball? Familiar with any of the rules? What does an umpire say after 3 strikes? “Y-e-e-e-er OUT!”

Yep. Time to pray to the Patron Saint of Lost Causes…”Saint Happening”.

You need a new plan. I’ll say it a 3rd time: you need a new plan. Go to college or a vocational school and find something you enjoy doing in life and do it well. Put the military in your rear view mirror, because trust me, they have put YOU in theirs.

Or ask the question a few more times and see if anyone in here gives you a glimmer of hope, and take that to a recruiter and say “well THEY told me I could get back in!”. come back and let us know how that works for you.

Sorry. Somewhere there is a rubber room that has your initials carved into the door.

You asked this question 18 times under different names and profiles...i lost count!

Can i re-enlist in the army with re code 3?

I recently was discharged for misconduct from the army. i huffed air duster while in iraq. it was a one time deal and was never even caught but when asked by my team sergeant i said yes because the guy who did get caught would have ratted me out anyway so i just fessed up. i recieved a general under honorable conditions discharge. prior to that incident i was a good soldier. i was on a 'fast track' to promotion. i was a month from being promoted to e4 corporal and would have been pinned sgt this month. my team sergeant even told me in a recent email that the intent was never to kick me out only to 'scare me straight' but the colonel changed his mind. my recruiter said i have to wait 2 years but i cant find anything to support that. all i can find is that i would need a waiver. i desperatly want to get back in. i hate civilian life and planned on being forced into retirement. anyone with some helpful info please help. thanks a lot.
