I Am A Uk Citizen Living In Canada Needing A Loan

I am a uk citizen living in Canada, can i travel to the US by land with just my UK passport and my Canadian li?

The work permit is not required to re enter Canada, however, the US officers will want to see that you have status in Canada and are able to return there once your stay in the US is completed. Therefore, you will want to bring it!

You will have to fill out an I-94 form, and pay a $6 fee. Make sure your passport is still valid for as long as you intend to stay as they will only give you status until before the expiration.

I am a uk citizen living in Canada needing a loan?

No - because if you are not in the UK there is no way for a loan company to pursue you if you default.

Can Canadian citizens who've never lived in Canada apply for a Canadian student loan?

You have to be a resident of a Canadian province to be eligible for the student loan programs. So you will have to provide proof that you are a resident of a province with such things as a house, an apartment, bank accounts, drivers license, health care card, tax return showing where you lived in December 31 of the preceding year,So you will physically have to come to Canada, establish a presence in a province and spend the requisite amount of time to be deemed a factual residentIn some cases, a university will require a certain amount of time that you have to live in the province to be considered a resident. For example, one year is a common amount of time for you to be deemed a resident of a province for the purpose of applying to programs so you will not be deemed an out of Province student.

Can UK citizens live in Canada?

Yes, there are no barriers to UK people living in Canada, you can travel under a job acceptance visa with a recognised Canadian employer, you can apply to immigrate there if you have existing family members there and have enough money to support yourself and whoever you take with you and you must carry minimum of 3 months personal health insurance for all of your group or you can immigrate to Canada if you have enough money to be able to invest a large amount of money into a business over there. It is a little bit of a long process at times due to financial checks, criminal record checks and passing a medical test! It can take up to two years! The end process is that when you land in Canada you arrive in a beautiful country with very friendly wonderful people and a great way of life! For more information and possible job opportunities it is best to start by looking at a Canadian Consulate or Embassy website and start from there apply for your paperwork. There are some good immigration lawyers in Canada who will do most of the paperwork for you at a price thiugh but they will keep you clear of any pitfalls. Canada wirks a points based immigration scheme much like Australia and they have an upper age limit of 49 but depending how you are planning to live there or if your children are already living theur and they are spinsoring you it will not be a problem. Good luck.

How can I apply for FAFSA if I'm a US citizen living abroad?

I'm a US citizen who is currently living abroad but I'm moving back to the states in order to continue my education. I'm in the process of filling out the electronic version of FAFSA, but there doesn't seem to be a "living abroad" option (except if you live in Canada). I'm a California resident since I've moved here only recently and I have a Californian driver's license, but I no longer have an address in California. My parents live in New Jersey, but I don't live with them. Do you think I should put my parents' address anyway in the "permanent address" box, to make things simpler? Or should I find a way of putting my foreign address into the application? Of course I'll be calling FAFSA to find all of this out, but it'd be nice to have some feedback from people with similar experience.

I am British can I go to live in Canada ? do i need a visa to go there ?

There is a HUGE difference between "living in Canada " and "visiting Canada ".

As a UK citizen, you can VISIT for up to 6 months, with out a visa, BUT you cannot work for pay here in Canada, Period.

In order to be able to work legally in Canada, you must apply and be approved for a work permit, BEFORE you come here.

Two completely different things, right ?

What is the best thing of living in Canada for a non Canadian citizen?

Free medical assess comes first to my mind on checking your question and next comes public libraries where you can enjoy your peaceful time all day long without being interrupted. Timmy's got the best (maybe the cheapest) taste when it comes to coffee, personally, even beating StarBucks, never mind any other coffee brand on the planet. The equation TIMs = Canada surely holds. Would you believe some snowbirds give up on fleeing the harsh winter after so many years of missing it? I totally understand that and I REALLY love the snow, which sometimes can give you hard time passing through it. Yes, diversity ! You didn't miss any human species of the world if you at least spent 12 months anywhere in Canada. Vast land mass comes last as you would LOOOOOVE driving on the endless highway with nothing in sight from the maritime to the tropical Vancouver. There is nothing like living in Canada and it's perfectly worth it, I guarantee. :)

Can a US citizen live in Canada permanently and not work?

No, but you are welcome to come to Canada as a visitor for 180 days every 12 month period. It the same for Canadians, think snowbirds, to come to USA.(The exact number is slightly higher, by a few days.)You didn’t ask; It is probably impossible for an American pensioner to move to Canada, permanently. Or, more succinctly, it is nary impossible to come to Canada as an immigrant after age 50.If you wish to find out if I speak the truth, for yourself, go here;Do you want to come to Canada, or extend your stay?

Can a British citizen living in the UK still apply to live in the EU countries, like Italy or Ireland?

For the time being, you can just go there - provided you can comply with the terms under which freedom of movement operates and you obey local rules and laws when you get there, you don't need to apply for visas or any other kind of permission. What you need to be aware of, however, is that the UK and EU have not yet reached agreemt on their future relationship, so once the Article 50 period ends next March, you could find your right to live and work in your destination country stripped away and needing at that point to seek permission to be there.

Can a Canadian citizen get a student loan in America?

I am a Canadian Engineer living in LA and I put a Canadian daughter through college in the USA. She got 3 student loans.

We got two through the CANHELP program for Canadian students studying in the USA. We got the third through the BC government student loan program. As long as your US school is listed with your provincial ministry of education you can get a Canadian loan. And if it is not listed there is a process you can expedite that takes about 6 weeks for you to get it listed. My daughter had to get her US school listed.

Unfortunately, the CANHELP program has been discontinued but on their web site are links to sites that list qualified schools and for you get loans through the provincial government of the province where you were last living. As well,as long as you are a full time student in the US, they will maintain your Canadian Medicare coverage for you at no charge to you. Meaning that if you are seriously sick or injured, you have Canadian medicare as backup to the lousy insurance policies the US schools offer to international students.

My daughter got very ill in her sophomore year and she was still covered by Canadian medicare for her surgery. And she got it much faster than in the USA.

However, she won a GA for grad school to pay got that and has several schools competing to offer her a fully paid doctorate in civil engineering.
