I Am Bored And I Need Some Girly Movies To Watch No Scary Movies

Im a girl but i hate girly movies?

No that's fine... I have plenty of friends that are girls and they hate chick flicks and that stuff and love the sci-fi thrillers. And their boyfriends love them even more for it because they dont have to sit through romantic girly movies.

What is the worst Bollywood movie you have ever watched in a cinema hall?

I love watching Hindi movies but it has its downsides too. I have had to sit through pretty bad movies too. Sometimes they are a bit boring but still bearable, but there are times when things do get pretty nasty for the audiences. Before I answer, I want to say one thing. In Bollywood  good movies are far and few, while bad movies form the majority. So if I go on to list the bad ones, I will write a long list of movies which will fall in this category. But the real pain is experienced when you have high expectations from a movie and you end up being utterly disappointed after watching the movie. So I am going to narrate one such pathetic experience which I went through:It was June 2005. I had gone through a lot of things in the past few months - my 12th class Board examinations, all the engineering entrance examinations namely IIT, AIEEE, etc., exam results, counselling  etc. Being an avid Hindi movie buff, I was desperately waiting to watch a good movie so that I could relax a little. I saw the posters and trailers of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and the movie along with its ensemble star-cast looked good. The songs were also catchy. Amitabh Bachchan had this look in the movie:All in all, there was something interesting to look forward to (Except Bobby Deol). The director of the movie was Shaad Ali and I had seen two of his movies before this - Saathiya ( a good romantic movie) and Bunty Aur Babli  ( an okay okay movie but fun to watch!). So I was pretty optimistic about Jhoom Barabar Jhoom too. Then finally the day came - the Friday on which the movie was to be released. There was craze about the movie in the masses and I had done advance booking of the movie tickets to watch the first show. I was so excited that I booked tickets for my entire family - Mummy, Papa and little sister (I still regret why I did this). The movie began and so did the boredom. Within first 15 minutes, people had already started leaving the movie hall. But I was determined to watch the entire movie thinking that it will pick up its pace slowly (which it didn't) (P.S- Add to it the typical mentality - value of my investment in buying the movie tickets -  I will make sure that I watch the entire movie even it is supposed to be pathetic :P).The movie was so awful that honestly, the pain cannot be described in words. Each and everyone in my family still makes fun of me for making them see that movie. The horror....the horror (sobs while writing)

Why do other girls like romance movies?

I'm a girl who loves romance movies, but I only like them when they're done well and realistically. You're right, the ones you listed *do* suck. But certain romantic films are so captivating when done well/intelligently, which is absolutely possible. Check out The Princess Bride, Annie Hall and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Those are some brilliant ones. I love romance movies like those because to me, love is fascinating when explored in a way that isn't just wish-fulfillment nonsense like The Notebook or Titanic. Not *all* romantic movies are cliche and annoying like those movies. (Grease sucks too but I love the music, personally) I hate when people judge a certain genre based on its lesser parts, so try to check out a wide variety of romance films before you do that. Also, there's nothing wrong with liking romance movies *and* horror flicks. I love both, except those cliche romance movies and gory horror. (There's no intelligence in those movies, I find. Only cheap and predictable scares. I prefer probing, psychological horror, myself)

If I were you I'd give Mean Girls a chance. It's much more interesting than Grease, Titanic and The Notebook in my opinion, and while a lot of people miss this because of all the funny quotes, there's a great anti-bullying message in the film.

Is the newer movie "Safe Haven" a good movie to watch with the boyfriend?

yes, he might get bored at the start but you wont

Should I be upset that my boyfriend never wants to watch movies with me that I like?

It’s sad that he doesn’t want to at least try to see a few, to reciprocate. That said, I can’t see that this isn’t something that you negotiate. It could be that you see the genres together that you both enjoy together. Anything borderline, you agree to share. What the other doesn’t want to see, you go see with friends. There is no one person that is going to want to do and see everything you want to see and do. What is important is being able to find ways to work through problems that are equitable, reasonable, honest and generous. As always, you also need to look at this in the entirety of the relationship. If this is a pattern of behavior, if he won’t compromise, then you need to seriously re-evaluate the relationship. Also, honestly look at your attitudes and actions. Nobody in any relationship should be doing all the giving or taking.
