Im scared about going to war?

please help me im so deeply scared of going to war, i start at the end of the month, will you can say cause tomorrow march 1, anyways im so incredibly scared to go, right now im like a baby that just wont stop crying, my friend said your be okay i promise cause im going with you, its okay. but i am so scared i just cant stop crying, im really set on panic mode, my heart is beating like 18 beats a second, i almost want to pass out, please help me what do i do, im shaking right now and crying. what do i do?

I am scared, my husband wants to join the military?

well honey let me tell you t his, he will not get a job in the military that he won't deploy or have a 9-5 job, i have been an AF wife for 5 years now (i'll be 26 in June) and i was dating my husband when he told me he want to join, i cried, i begged him not go, ( i was in a previous relationship with a guy in the army and he changed after he joined) i thought the same thing was going to happen with my husband (then boyfriend), he basically said i will undersand if you don't want to be with me anymore but i would love it if you would, well i was already in love with him and it would have been selfish for me not to let him follow his dreams, this is something he always wanted to do and i would follow him to the ends of the earth to be with him, i didn't know anything about military life, the Air Force is the most civilian like service, but they still do deploy, not for a year like the army but from 2-6 months at a time, you get great benefits, many companies have military discounts, you become very independent, the deployments do not get easier but they do get more manageable, i don't have kids yet but their is SO much support on the military bases from other wives who know exactly what you are going through, and your wrong, your husband is going to miss you and his babies as much as you would, he won't want to be away from you guys, but their is a good thing about being in a military marriage, you appreciate each other way more then civilian couples, i know i was one! and when my husband gets deployed and i pick him up from the base when he gets home, i get butterflies in my stomach when i see him coming off the plane and its like falling in love with him all over again, they do make descent money, and we he gets deployed he will bring home extra money, don't live paycheck to paycheck like you are doing, the military is not as bad as you think, you get to shop at the commissary (base grocery store) where everything is much cheaper and you don't pay sales tax on items! when you live on base you don't pay rent or utilities! you will probably travel to more countries then most people do in their lifetime, if you have any more questions my e-mail is jesirhoton@yahoo.com, good luck hon, don't worry, its an adventure you'll never forget and if you don't want to do it after 4 years you can get out and your husband will have military experience on his resume which is what employers LOVE!

I want to join the military but im scared?

lol been helping a lot of ppl on this.. u have nothing to be worried about

i have fought in afghan, seen many of my team fall and plenty of afgahns, ive also served in iraq for a year and a half and just got sent back 4 months ago. i currently work at a pizzeria right now in montreal, qc. canada.

many people ask why i do it, but they all wont understand until ur there holding for dear life with your family besides you in the middle of a war.. many of my friends lost their lives and im very blessed and thankful i havnt lost mine.. ive taken a leave for a while to clear my head (which is why i make pizzas)

so to answer your question.. it all depends on the field u apply for but note that 99% of what you choose puts you on the risk factor of getting killed, it just depends on how much your willing to sacrifice.... i would listen to your parents.. but if its whatyou really want it is great pay but will change the way you see life... i only recommend it ur capable... check out some vids and read up a bit to know more... u got a long time to decide and best wishes

I'm scared about joining the Army?

The Army has several locations for basic training, including Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina; Fort Knox in Louisville, Kentucky; Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Missouri; Fort; and Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. Where you attend is primarily dependent upon the location of your follow-on, Advanced Individual Training (Job Training). In fact, if you enlist in one of the Combat Arms MOS's, you very well may receive basic training and Advanced Individual Training all at one location: Fort Benning for infantry; Fort Knox for armor; Fort Leonard Wood for combat engineers, military police, and chemical. Because of the many locations of Army Basic Training, the below training schedules may vary slightly from location to location (but not much).
There are things you'll want to do to prepare in advance before departing for Army Boot Camp. Your recruiter should give you a list of what you can and cannot bring. If it is not on the list, don't bring it. Drill Sergeants have a way of using selective new recruits to demonstrate the failings of civilian society for the rest of the recruits.
As with all military boot camps, tobacco products are forbidden, so if you smoke or chew, now would be a good time to quit.
A considerable portion of your nine weeks at Army Boot Camp will be taken up with marching, drill, ceremonies, and lots & lots of standing in formation. Want to know what it's like to be in the Army? Try standing in one place, ramrod straight and perfectly still. If a mosquito bites you, don't slap it. If sweat rolls into your eye, don't wipe it away. And if you scratch your thigh, do 20 push-ups and jump back into position.
Your arms will thank you if you take some time before arriving at boot camp to study about and practice the basics of drill. It's also a good idea to start ahead of the game by memorizing Army officer and enlisted ranks. You'll also want to memorize the Army General Orders.
You will also want to learn the seven Army Core Values that will be continually hammered into you during your nine-week stay. You'll sleep & eat them. Memorizing these seven core values in advance may give you a little extra breather time while others are trying to commit them to memory. (The letters spell out "LDRSHIP")

Overcoming my fear of dying in the military?

Please don't be insulted. You should NOT join any armed service. We appreciate the fact that you want to serve your country, but please find an alternative. We die in all services, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, I have buried plenty of friends, and I was sailor. You are much more courageous to admit your fear, and move onto to something else, instead of hiding it, and getting into a shitstorm, and going into a panic and causing the injury or death of your shipmates. I understand that this is not what you want to hear. But honesty is always my best policy. Good luck.

I want to join the marines but i am scared?

Perfectly normal. It is called the fear of the unknown. Joining the military is a life changing event. Either you are ready or you are not. Look deep down inside yourself. If this is something you really want to do, then go for it. The military will be whatever you make of it. Go in with an open mind. Embrace what you learn. You will not be alone in this. Every recruit in your platoon will be in the same situation as you. If you go in with a preconceived notion of what you believe the military should be and find out that it isnt like what you expect, then you may be in for a rough ride. I loved my time in the USMC. You will get to go places and do things that ordinary people will never get to do. I climbed Mt. Fuji, in Japan. Was on a small carrier at sea during a Typhoon, got rocked for 36 hours straight. Got to fire some of the coolest weapons made, and got paid for doing all this. Spent time in the arctic, tropics and desert. You are young. Get out and experience life. Do some things that you will remember and cherish the rest of your life. We all were scared when we first joined up, but that goes away rather quickly. If this is something you have wanted to do, then go and do it. You wont be disappointed.

I'm scared to leave home and my girlfriend for the military. ?

Okay so I know this isn't really a question im just looking more for opinions from people who have or are in the military. I am really scared about leaving. I am 18 and I recently graduated back in June. My BMT leave date is October 7th. I have learned from my dad that nothing is 100% official until you sign that contract before you leave so im doing this now. I'm more scared to leave my girlfriend behind than anything. We have been together for a year and I know it may sound stupid cause were young but I really do believe she is the one for me and we are meant to be together. I feel like im making a bad choice by taking the military route because i am putting what me and her have in jeopardy. Now my parents warned me not to get into this situation but i did =/ She is the girl of my dreams and its just so hard to leave her and say goodbye. It's also kind of more than her. My friends look like their having so much fun in college and I feel like im missing out so much. Im just scared im going to regret the military. I have been wanting to do this since I was little but now that Its finally here im having second thoughts. I just wanted opinions or maybe tips from someone who has been in this kind of situation before. Thanks
