I Get Cramps When I Do Cardio Help

Why is my cardio so bad all of the sudden?!?

I've always been fast and able to run for long periods of time... And I have conditioning everyday of the week for an hour and a half because I'm on the high school soccer team, but this week along with last week, I've been coming in close to last every time and getting cramps constantly. We normally do sprints for about an hour and then jog two miles at the end... But I throw up and can't catch my breath every day we run... Three weeks ago I was fine, always coming in first or second in my group but I don't know what happened. The worst part is that I have a fitness test tomorrow, we have to sprint 200 yards in 35 seconds, 10 times with a 30 second break in between each sprint... And I'm afraid I'm going to do bad and not get much playing time this season.

Cramps in my traps when running?

I always eat a banana before any strenuous activity. It helps me with cramps and also water will help. AS far as what to eat...I rarely ever eat before I play or work out. I usually wait at elast two hours if i do eat somehtign ebfore I get into any work out routine or any sports that I play

Does exercise help prevent period cramps?

Personally I would say yes. I used to have cramps until I started exercising on a regular basis. The cramps stopped. Some days I would feel nothing at all, no pain, some days just a really really really tiny weeny pain. I liked the feeling of the cramping stopping. However, I have a friend who also exercises regularly but she still gets cramps from her period, I found it surprising knowing my situation. I advised her to do more vigorous exercising but it didn't help. I am not an expert on women health issues but I am a woman who found a solution through exercise. I should also say during this period my diet was healthy and I drank lots of water, at least 3 liters per day and ate fruits regularly. The only way to find out is to do some exercise days before your period starts, helps to warm the blood and ensure smooth and free flow.

When I do cardio, my ovaries hurt really bad, like I'm cramping, what's wrong?

I'd suggest that you see a doctor to be on the safe side here. This is definitely not normal. Now, have you considered that it may not be your ovaries, but your intestines? They're easy to confuse and intestines are more likely to cramp up.

Have you tried lighter cardio? Are you stretching before and after exercise? Do you have regular bowel movements? (That can also be a cause of cramping, esp. if you sweat and don't take in enough liquid).

Exercise makes menstrual cramps worse?

I just asked this question a few hours ago but only one person responded so I deleted it.

I am the same way. I read about all these women saying "Exercise and your cramps will fade away!" And I try it and I just end up in my bed wanting to kick myself for putting myself in more pain. I would have been better off to lay in bed and not move. Then those women might say, "Take ibuprofen before you exercise." Well I did, and it didn't help.

The answer I got on my question said you need to exercise during the whole month. Well I think I do, working as a Vet Tech! Restraining 70+ pound dogs when they are coming off anesthesia and flailing around is a workout.

And eating healthily during my period is out too. I mean I want sweets and salt, not cabbage and carrots.

Okay that was my rant. So no you are not alone. Menstrual cramps + exercise = more pain.

But I am not sure why this happens for us.

Good luck!

During the time of the period does walking relieves menstrual cramps?

I really varies from person to person. For some people walking does relieve cramps and discomfort.

Can gym and cardio be done during periods?

It is completely healthy to exercise during periods. In fact,it helps subside mood swings, cramps and lazyness. Our parents often suggest us not to prefer exercising because it's been believed that way since forever. Back then, lack of sanitary napkins, menstrual cups etc made women sit at one place and not move so that they wouldn't have to clean up much.

Is it bad to do cardio and weight lifting in one day?

Depending on your goals, I don’t think so.If you want to build muscle and keep body fat down it can be effective. A good plan is doing cardio after weight training as it can help burn more body fat as the weight training has helped get you into a fat burning mode and cardio after can help you keep riding this wave. There’s various info that might say that it doesn’t matter if the cardio is before or after weights but I believe you should keep you strength and energy for the weights at first as that is the cornerstone of you strength and muscle building and then go for cardio after. But you can play around with it and see which works best for you.

What causes a "stitch" in your side while doing cardio and how do I get rid of/prevent it from happening!!

When I was in highschool, I hated it in PE when we had to go on runs because I'd always get "stitches"... Someone in my class gave me a tip which has forever helped me when I run (no longer by the force of a PE teacher! hehe) and said that you need more oxygen, so be sure to breathe in deeply during your exercise, and if you can - inhale twice in a row, exhale once, inhale twice, exhale once...
I don't know why, but it honestly helps... Or it did for me anyway...
