Same thing happened to me. I searched the internet and I found a code which worked on my computer. Try this one: IM44-BYML-7UFN-SV4H-LFLT If that code doesn't work, just google it. I'm sure that there are tons of serial codes on the internet. Hope I helped :)

Oh no, not illegally downloaded it. Haha. My brother gave me a Late Night and Generations expansion pack disks. They're in little paper CD sleeves, but there isn't a serial number because he got them from a friend who didn't want them anymore, but misplaced the serial number and the little booklet that comes with it.

How can I install my Sims 4 game when my activation code has already been used?
If you own a physical copy of the game then you are legally allowed to have 1 digital backup copy to use in case the disc fails to work or something like that. So if you have proof that you purchased the game then all you need to do is go to Download music, movies, games, software! The Pirate Bay and download a cracked copy to play, if the fbi comes knocking about it(which they wont) just show them the proof that you bought the game. Thats why those sites are allowed to exist.
