I Missed A Call From A Potential Employer

Missed Call from Potential Employer?

You could call them Saturday if they are open for business this is quite acceptable.

If not, I would leave it to Monday and apologise by telling them you were at your other job and could not phone them back, this will put a professionally appropriate excuse to them and they can only accept this.

Once you know what they want (be prepared for them thanking you and not offering the job, but this rarely happens these days) just be yourself.

I should think the call was in connection with a face to face interview.

Best of luck

Missed call from potential employer?

Did the person leave their name? If so, call through the company switchboard, employees tend to take calls that are transferred internally

Things to remember:
There may be a company operator. If that person asks the nature of your call, say you are returning an urgent call from X regarding your employment status.

Once you get the person on the phone and have said Hello X add: Sorry I missed your call yesterday, I am very interested in the job so I am very pleased I am able to reach you.

On your next call please say (slowly) your email address if you have one, thus giving them another option to reach you.

Lastly go to the company's Contact Us page on their web site, sent the person an email, state in the email, that the email is for X manager. Tech support will forward it and they will read an email tech support.

A good rule of thumb is call around 4:20 - 5:00PM many managers are likely at their desk tiding up for end of day

Thanks
Continued success in you job search...

Missed a Call from a Potential Employer?

I put in an application 2 days ago at IKEA. Today I received a call at 2:29 which I missed by 10 minutes while I was walking my dogs. I googled the number and it was IKEA's number. When I called them back, I got an automated message and got through to a customer service person. I told them who I was, that I applied and that I was returning their call. They sent me through to a HR person (who I had a bad connection with and may not of got all of the correct information through to.) who I told the same thing to as the last person. He asked me what position I was applying for, my number and my name (which I think he took down wrong) and told me that he would tell the manager to call me back.

I have not heard from them since and I'm assuming they're not going to be calling back today because it's almost 7:30. So what should I do? Should I call them back again, or should I wait for them to call me tomorrow? Also, do you think missing their call is going to affect my chances of getting a job?

How do I call a potential employer back after I missed their call and they didn't leave a message?

I don't generally answer calls that come up "Unknown" or "Unavailable", but on a whim, I looked up the number from an "Unknown" caller, and it turned out to be a company I submitted a job application for! They didn't leave a message, so now I don't know how to proceed. I'm afraid I'll look like an unreliable slouch who never answers the phone and that will count against me.

Is there any way I can save face? Any tips?

Missed call from potential employer. Should I call back?

I applied for a job. The employer called me to schedule an interview. I missed the call and they left a message. The only problem is the message was left 10 days ago. I just heard it tonight. I am embarrassed that it took me this long to check my voicemail. Should I return the call on Monday? Or is it too late?

A potential employer called and informed me that I missed the recruitment deadline. Should I apply again next recruitment season? Will they keep in touch with me by default?

First is for you to address the reason why you failed to meet a deadline. You do not want it repeating itself.Secondly, it is important that you seek process clarity. Some organisation have defined rules and processes concerning recruitment. It goes as far as prohibiting you from applying to an organisation over a period of time from the first application. Seek to know their procedures.Lastly, never leave your chances to default. The fact that they have CVs in their CV bank does not mean it will be the first point of call when kick starting another round of recruitment. Bookmark or put such companies on your watch list. Ensure you are up-to-date concerning opportunities within the company.Wish you the very best. www.femiojomo.com

Missed call from potential employer (Mcdonalds) will they call me back?

I applied to Mcdonalds like 2 weeks ago and i got a call today. I heard my phone ring and went to get it from across the room but they hung up when my phone was in my hand and I was about to answer. I googled the number and it's from the exact Mcdonalds I applied at. I tried calling them back twice but it was busy. Also I'm not sure if I should even try to call them back since they did not leave a message. Will they contact me again (I mean it is Sunday and Fathers Day when they called) or will they move on and I just missed this opportunity. It would be a great job to have while I'm in college since it's so close and I'm afraid I missed this opportunity.

Potential Employer just called but did not leave me a voice mail?

There' no reason to be nervous. Or call back.

Generally, if there was a specific topic for discussion, they would have left a message regarding that. If they wanted to "get a feel for you" with additional questions, they would have requested a call back in the VM.

They'll call again if they are interested.

What you don't want to do is call them and say something like,: "Uh, duh, yeah... this is Jim... and I uh.. got a call from this number and ... uh... I applied for uh, like a job there last week? And, uh,,, like uh, what were you calling about, anyway?".
