(Disclosure: I’m WatZatSong cofounder).I have to admit we didn’t believe there would be people able to name thousands of songs to help some other members when we started it but the members keep impressing us, with some having named above 10k so far and more than half a million songs have been named to date.Shazam is clearly faster, but when Shazam fails or when you have no recording and only a tune that you can sing or hum, the WatZatSong community is often the way to go.

How do you find a song that you don't know the name to?
Here are a few things to consider:Try and remember as many lines of the lyrics of the song as you can and then put it into Google. This has saved me a lot of times.If you have an IPhone, you can ask Siri ‘what song is this’ and she will listen for a few seconds and they give you the name of the song, and an iTunes link. This feature uses Shazam, which is an app by itself for Apple and Android, which will do the exact same thing as Siri.Carefully listen to the radio (I'm assuming you heard this on a radio or something) and see if the host tells you what that song was or who this artist was. That should lead you in the right direction.If you vaguely remover the tune, go and ask your friends! It would be quite likely that they would have heard this song too and hum them the tune. I don't know, it might work.
