Member's alternate email address, verified and set as primary is not showing as primary in the group list.?
I moderate a group that has been around for about 14 years. Occasionally some of our older members want to update their email address but can't remember their passwords and for whatever reasons, Yahoo Groups fails to recognize their profile ID and will not send them a password reset. It is my belief that Yahoo "lost" a bunch of profile ids on one of their many conversions over the last few years. When that happens, I usually advise our member to create a brand new profile, which of course, requires them to define a new @yahoo.com email account. Many of those members would prefer to receive email at their primary, non-yahoo email address, so I provide instructions to them on how to add alternate email addresses, verify them and then set them as primary for our group. I have one member in particular right now who, as far as I can tell, has done everything perfectly. I've walked thru her Yahoo account settings with her and her Gmail account IS verified and set as primary. But when I go into my moderator account, however, and pull up the member list, her account is listed with the new @yahoo.com email address which she just created. I can't find a reason for this and she is completely frustrated. Has anyone else ever encountered this, and if so, is there a solution? Also, has anyone else had issues with older Yahoo profile ids not being recognized, and if so, is there a reason and solution for this? Thanks to all in advance for any ideas or suggestions?

Can I change my aol name without accessing the master account?
I have had the same name since I was 12 (I'm now 23) and I want to change it. I can't access the master account because I don't know the password, it's my dad's account and he is no longer here so I have no way of getting on there. I don't really want to delete the account or stop using AOL, I use AOL, gmail and Yahoo (Gmail for my pen-name and youtube, yahoo for yahooanswers and AOL for my personal e-mail) but I'm sick of having the same s/n. Any other way I can change it without having to log into the master account or am I pretty much stuck?

if you were able to login using your original password then its just a phishing scam. writing from what looks like Yahoo member services but is actually a bogus email to just make you think you need to re log in to your account and check you password. during this process, when you log in to a what looks like an authentic site. This site actually has key logger programs that will recall the username and password you typed in. Once they have your username, password to your email account they will be able to access it and look through your online banking, credit cards electronic statements and notifications. This is just the start of intelligence gathering for a persons account info. Remember scammers need the following important information. 1. Access to your primary email: email accounts store much information like which online banks you have accounts with. your Full Name, Billing address and phone number in case you still have old electronic receipts from previous purchases. 2. They can get more ways to access other accounts by using the gathered information above. Advice; 1. Delete old electronic receipts. 2. Use different email accounts for personal mail purposes, one email for just your online credit/financial accounts. another email for social networks (myspace etc). THE LESSER INFO THE HAVE THE BETTER, PLUS MORE EMAIL ACCOUNTS IS BETTER THAN ONE. AT LEAST YOUR SENSITIVE INFO IS STORE ON DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS. 3. Maintain your computer, delete your offline files, cookies, have a good security protection not just anti virus. Get total protection like mcafee 12 n 1, has anti spy, anti virus etc. 4. When using "a different pc" when accessing your online stuff. Be extra careful. You can always leave your footprints behind. clean up after using. More things to prevent identity theft but I don't want to write a manula for this, use common sense. good luck!
