Ibuprofen make you sleepy?
I have a cold sore, and it hurts throughout my whole jaw. My mom told me to take some ibuprofen I got prescribed to me a while ago for inflammation. It's 2:30am, and I took one 600mg pill, I just want to know if it will make me sleepy so I could finally fall asleep?

I got prescribed motrin/ibuprofen from my doctor right after I had my baby 3 weeks ago. I haven't been taking the ibuprofen at all though. I need to get a good nights sleep. Sometimes my mother in law wants to take my daughter upstairs and sleep with her just so my husband and I can get a few hours of sleep. lol Will taking 600 MG of ibuprofen put me to sleep? What about benadryl? Will that help me sleep?

I wouldn't say that it makes them sleepy, but it helps with their pain and lets them rest. If she is teething she needs tylenol, especially at night it will def. help her rest :) My 8 month old is also teething...

I suppose it can but it was so little that I doubt it. It is more likely thatyou were just really really tired. A good long sleep was what your body was telling you it needed.

Augmentin is a penicillin antibiotic and probably will not make you sleepy. Motrin is an NSAID(non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug). Normally, it doesn't cause drowsiness, but all NSAIDs can sometimes cause drowiness in some people. Have you taken Advil before? Advil is ibuprofen 200mg. If you took a couple of Advil with no sleepiness then 600 mg probably wouldn't do it. You may just be tired because you are ill and you body is going into healing mode. Did they write for any other medications?
