In Phase 1 Is It Normal For Your Ketosis Levels To Go Up

How long does it take for a body to turn into ketosis mode? i have started a low carb diet like atkins.?

It varies depending on the person-but normally a few days. If you want to know if your in ketosis grap a bottle of ketone sticks found normally in the diabetes section of your pharmacy-only cost about $10 for 50. To be blunt, all you do is pee on the stick when your urinating and you can tell by what color it turns if you are in ketosis.

What was your longest plateau phase on the keto diet? How did you start losing weight again?

Here's an easy, almost fail proof way to come off the Keto plateau. And it creates astonishing results for most anyone who tries it.Two Words. Intermittent Fasting! There is many different ways to go about intermittent fasting (IF), but it basically involves going from a brief period of fasting to a short period of eating. The simplest way to begin IF is skipping breakfast.Actually the time you spend sleeping is a period of fasting. Instead of eating soon after you've awaken, wait about 4-5 more hours before you break the fast. When you think about it, this is where the word breakfast comes from. When you first eat after waking from your sleep, you are breaking the fast you were in while you were asleep. Thus, break-fast.Eventually you will break your fast, in this case you're just extending the time that you normally do so.It's important to remember, that the way IF works is, during the time that you are fasting, your body is burning fat. And the longer you extend this fasting period, the more fat your body burns. This is the plan I recommend for anyone starting IF. Called the 6-18 Fast. For an example,*let's say you wake up at 6:00 A.M. You don't break your fast until 11:00 A.M. This is when you eat your first meal.*Now you have a 6 hour window to eat in.*You finish eating your final meal of the day by 5:00 P.M.*Then you begin your 18 hour period of fasting which includes the time you allocate for sleeping.*Now you just rinse and repeat daily until you achieve your desired results. If you would like to experience quicker results, you may want to consider doing a 5-19 fast. Or a 4-20 fast. What makes this type of weight loss so appealing is that you can easily customize this to suit your needs and goals. When IF is is combined with the Ketogenic diet, it will not only take you off that plateau, but it will also accelerate your weight loss goals.Remember to consult your doctor before beginning any kind of diet or fasting program.

Is Paleo diet almost like the Atkins?

yes. essentially Atkins, the Zone, South Beach, Paleo etc are all the same - low carb and all just as flawed. And all make people fat, sick and many actually die, they promote diabetes (remember insulin pushes fat and sugar into cells so never forget fat when it comes to diabetes - fat triggers more extreme insulin spikes than sugar ever will) and they all mess up your body. As doctor McDougall put it, making your body go into ketosis is what happens when you're in chemotherapy.

What's particularly dangerous about these diets is that not only are they low carb, but are also high protein, and in particular they promote animal protein. There are vegan versions of Atkins which isn't a deadly, but at the same time it's nowhere near as low-carb, as starches are plant energy so it's not possible to eat vegetables and get NO carbs or starches.

The only thing that sets the Paleo diet apart is the marketing package and the bs they discuss when talking about the paleolithic era in human history from a dietary perspective. Study that and pay attention to the more recent findings and you'll start understanding just how BS the marketing really is and how they prey on people's gullibility. They even say things like "nutrition is a soft science". Anyone who's studied nutrition knows that's not true - yes particular foods make people react differently but we all need the same macronutrients and major vitamins and minerals etc. It's just that food sources are many and varied so there's a wide range of foods that provide human nutritional needs. And they really do pervert medical facts like saying things like and omit important facts in the hope people don't know any better. If these people are to be believed, it's not even known what triggers cardiovascular events like heart attacks and strokes etc! It very much is, and so is what particular foods make your endothelial layer sticky and soft and susceptible to rupturing. They say nutritional studies are largely epidemiological, and that's very much untrue. Why they think biochemists and medical researchers would focus soley on statistics is completely beyond me.
