Is It Okay To Take Hamster Babies Away From Mother At 3 Weeks

Will dwarf hamster babies almost 3 weeks old survive without their mother who died? What do I do?

well exactly how old are they if theyre only a couple days away from 3 weeks and are eating hamster food and drinking water then they'll be fine dont worry =) and trust me ive raised two hamster litters and two gerbil litters

oh and message me and tell me how old they are =)

When can I give away baby hamsters?

The mom will not take care of them, and they'll start to fight among each other. My mother hamster even hurt one of the babies, and it died. They'll have to have some time to mature, so you separate them after a while so they'll adapt.

When to take a baby hamster from its mother?

At three weeks, you can separate the babies if you observe any fighting among them but if they seem immature, less developed and not quite independent enough to leave mom just yet, let them stay together until they are four weeks old. When they reach five weeks old, independent and have a healthy development, they can be placed in new homes and play in new surroundings and environment.

I hope i helped! Good Luck!

Should i take baby hamsters away from their mother?

Okay all wrong answers, put some dried oats down and some white bread soaked in warm milk to see if the babies will eat and sponge off that, if so then put the babies in a seperate cage, you dont seperate them till about 4 weeks and on seed. if they dont eat that then leave them with the mother another week then they should be okay to seperate but at 5 weeks you need to seperate each on in a seperate cage since hamsters are solitary and they will fight or procreate.

How to take care of a baby hamster?

leave the job for the mother..dont ever touch it until it's like...3 weeks old

How long until I can give away my baby hamsters.

They need to be seperated from each other and their mom at 3 weeks old, as thats when they are able to breed. So you could give them away at three weeks, but I would recommend keeping them an extra week so that they get used to not being around mom, and then give them away :)

Good luck with mom and the babies :)

How long does it take a baby hamster to grow hair?

They are Syrian, she just had then today. My questions are:
When will they grow hair and stop bong ugly?
When can I take them away from their mother?
I'm taking them back to a pet store, do I do that right after weaning or wait a bit?
When do I separate males and femals?

The father is alright taken out of the cage and the mothers cage is in a warm room with not much noise. We have looked at the babies but of course not touched them or the mother. We have been in that room as little a possible.

When can I touch my new baby hamsters??

You can try to touch them when they are 2 weeks or older provided mamma hamster is unbothered by it. If she looks bothered, refrain from doing so until the pups are three weeks old.

Between 3 weeks - 4 weeks, the pups can be weaned from the mother and can be caged separately. Also sex the pups and separate the males and females into different cages since they are sexually mature from 5th week onwards.
