Is It Possible To Create A Shortcut To Any Website And Put It On My Desktop From Google Chrome

My google chrome browser shortcut name has changed to fa automatically. What does that mean?

Hi...The google chrome shortcut name on my desktop has automatically changed to fa. Does it mean someone is accessing my system or is it a characteristic of the browser(google chrome) itself?

How do I put Google on my desktop?

Google is not an application, its a company alright? Also what you’re referring to is Google Search. You can try putting it on to your desktop by making a .url file but its pointless, is it really that hard to type google.com into your website?

How do I create an application shortcut (which opens in Chrome) to a specific website on a Mac?

Chrome now has a web store, which lets you find shortcuts to web apps and have them appear in big icons on your new tab page (among other things). However, I just found an awesome little trick which will get you exactly what you want easily (except that the application shortcut will open in a tab in Chrome, not a separate Chrome window or application).Open the site or web app you want to make a shortcut to in Chrome.See the little site icon to the left of the URL and to the right of back/forward/refresh? Drag it to your desktop. It will create a webloc file, which is simply a file that opens a certain web page when opened. You can drag it to any folder you'd like.If the webloc doesn't open in Chrome, select it on your desktop/folder, press command-i, go to the "Open with" section (expand it if it's closed), and select Chrome in the drop down menu. Then click change all (it will apply the change to every webloc file on your computer, and any new ones you make). If you want to make a custom icon for your webloc file, keep reading. Open the image that you want to use, right click it, and copy it. Select your desktop shortcut (webloc), press command-i, and click on the icon of the file at the top of the info window. It should be highlighted in blue. Press command-v to paste, and the icon will be applied to the file (this works on any file, application, or folder on a Mac).If you need shortcuts on your computer's desktop opening in Chrome as a separate web app window, that's trickier because it's been disabled on Chrome for Mac for some odd reason. This might run you into some problems, but here's an article that could help: http://www.lessannoyingcrm.com/b...

How can I open webpage shortcuts in incognito mode?

I want my shortcuts to open in chrome's incognito mode, but I don't want chrome itself to always open in incognito. Just the shortcuts to specific webpages. I've tried adding the --incognito to the chrome.exe shortcut like I was told to, but that doesn't do what I'm asking for. I don't want incognito to be my default browsing, just webpage shortcuts. Is this possible?

How do you put a Google icon on your desktop?

Assuming you are using Windows and trying to create a desktop shortcut:Right-click in an empty area of the Windows desktop.Choose New -> ShortcutA new window should pop up.  Enter "http://www.google.com" (minus the quotes) if you are making a shortcut to the Google website. (For Google applications such as Chrome web browser, replace "http://www.google.com" with something like "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome.exe" - installation paths may vary, and you can click "Browse" to try to locate the executable application, as well.)Click Next.Name the shortcut and click Finish.Hope this is of some help!

What are your thoughts on Google Chrome?

I love it, 9.5/10 at the moment.

Answering your last question, ANYTHING (Opera, Safari, Firefox, Chrome) is better than IE.

Rule One: It's fast. Faster than Firefox (seemingly, waiting on ZDnet to get out benchmarking), and both are WAY faster than IE.

Since it's from Google, I'm absolutely sure it's secure. The reason I docked it .5 points is because, well, it's a beta release. Giving 10/10 on a first beta? Come on.

I have 2 favorite features. I notice that, if a process is making, say, 100k usage, you can use the task manager (Page>Developer>Task Manager) and close that tab, decreasing your usage.

But one I truly and honestly love, you can create 'application shortcuts' (Page>Create Appl...) and they allow you to launch applications from your desktop. For example, say I use Gmail. I can create a shortcut to Gmail from my desktop, and double-click it to launch it. It works with multiple other apps, too.

Another thing I like in all browsers is simplicity. Like the Google homepage, which is simple, the UI isn't the prettiest thing on Earth, but it's simple and efficient. It takes some time to get to know your way around it, but hey, it took time to know your way around IE7, Safari 3.1, Firefox 3, and definitely Opera. What's different?

WebKit is a stable, fast rendering engine.

I love the omnibox. It's sweet not to have space taken up by the menu bar, address bar, search box, and tab bar. I prefer the omnibox, tab bar, and back+forward. Just the way I like it.

As it's the first day, everyone doesn't have an app for Chrome. Once it gets, say, 10% market share (Google could accomplish this by releasing certain 'must have' features for Chrome, and then maybe 3-6 months later for FF/IE users), I'm sure more people will write apps for Chrome. At the end, market share will be 1% Internet Explorer, 40% Firefox, 40% Chrome, 19% Safari - as it should be.

My only dislikes are the lack of plug-ins, but that should be remedied soon, as Google is taking feedback. It's also a bit confusing at first, but after a few minutes of looking you find what you're looking for.

I don't really care for a pretty browser, but Firefox is pretty and strong. Chrome is simple and strong. I prefer the latter, but the former will definitely be competing with Chrome for competition for a year.

How come the google chrome isn't working?

If you install Google Chrome, you will see an error like “Application
failed to initialize (0xc0000005).”. This is due to Symantec Endpoint
Configuration in ur machines. To workaround this problem, try the
following fix.

1. Right-click the shortcut for “Google Chrome” on your desktop and
goto “Properties”.
2. In the target field, in de end, append “-no-sandbox” and Save.

Try again. Google Chrome should start working for you.

Hope this will help if u r company PC is using Symantec End Protection.Try the following links for all other kinds of problems and fixes for Google Chrome.
