Is My Second Hole Piercing Infected

Hole of ear piercing red? Infected?

I got my ears pierced almost 7 months ago and i havent taken them out until a couple of days ago. One ear hole is fine but the other is red inside it. This ear hole also had those crusties on the back. It hasn't hurt or anything until recently because I've been messing with it. There is no blood or puss, but I'm not sure if my ear is infected.

Infected Second-Hole Ear Piercing?

first off you should never clean it with any kind of rubbing alcohol it will dry it out pulling or hitting it too hard might cause an styfe or something like that but forgot the name of it ive had it once just

1-take some water heat it up til its like super hot it doesn't have to be boiling add some sea salt make sure its not saltier then what your tears would taste like kk
2-after that get a tea bag try to get a green tea bag put it in the water let it soak for like 30 sec to 1 min
3-onces its soaking and hot put it on the back of your ear and let it sit this might be a bit painful kk but try to endure
4-keep it on the back of your ear till it cools off after it cools to the same process 1 to 2 more time make sure to do this 2 times a day and your ear will start feeling better

also make sure to NEVER EVER get your ear pierced with a gun always get it done by a needle piercing guns cause trauma to the wound increasing the chances of infection but after it goes away just clean it out with the salt water make sure its SEA SALT with HOT WATER

Is my ear piercing infected? Can it still get infected after about 4 weeks?

you should clean it with the ear cleaner they give you more often and rubbing alcohol if your taking your earring out..like rub the rubbing alcohol on the part that goes in your ear and dont forget to twist your earring every so often when its in your ear. try no to take it out yet though until its healed all the way.

Ear piercing infection?

First of all, whatever you do, don't take the earring out, because that will just trap the infection and make it a lot worse. Claire's antiseptic is not a bad thing to use, but it's not the best thing to use either. I see some people have already mentioned sea salt soaks--put a pinch of sea salt into a small cup or shot glass and fill it with warm water (about 1 part sea salt to 5 parts water is fine), and soak a cotton ball in it and hold it against your ear for a couple of minutes. Also, letting warm water run over it in the shower for about a minute is a good way to clean it without irritating the piercing. I know they tell you to rotate the piercing early on, but right now you should just let it be--further aggravation is not what you need. Try to touch it as little as possible and ALWAYS wash your hands (with unscented, antibacterial soap). If it gets worse, use a little neosporin or you can even go to a doctor to get some topical cream. The most important thing to do is not take it out and not touch it--and you should be fine, it should heal in about a week. I have a lot of piercings and I know it's really hard to not touch them, but trust me, it will help a lot.

Also, in regards to other comments, DO NOT use hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, regular alcohol, or regular table salt--these will all just aggravate the piercing! Also, try not to wash it with scented soap.

Why are my second ear piercing holes always getting infected?

Currently I have 4 piercings, 2 on each ear lobe. I wear one pair of earrings every day in the first hole on each ear....quite so often that the holes are more like slits now due to the pull of gravity. They never get infected. However, any time I have recently put earrings in the second holes they get infected. I can keep earrings in all day in the first holes, but if I put any in the second holes they become very sore and start to bleed in as little as 6 or 7 hours.

I got my second holes pierced about 3 years ago, and my first holes about 10 years ago. Strangely, its only been within this past year that they started to get infected, I never had any problems when I first got them pierced or while they were healing...

Does anyone know why only the second holes get so easily infected these days? Or how I can prevent them from getting infected again? I've tried cleaning my ear lobe and the earrings before wearing them and they still end up bleeding =(

Thanks in advance!!!

Are my new lobe piercings infected?

on the 12th of this month, i got my second holes (upper lobes) pierced. it was my first time being pierced with a needle in my life. i'm very infection prone when it comes to piercings, so i have to be extra cautious with them. now, all of my piercings before this (literally just my lobes) were very infected. but these were all done with a gun. I had to get my lobes pierced 3 different times, and even that third time they got infected, but changing to hoops cleared it up quickly. i thought that maybe the infections were because of the gun, so i got my second holes done with the needle instead. it went pretty well, but as time went on, i've become more and more convinced that they are infected. my left ear has been swollen the entire time, while my right ear was pretty normal. yesterday and tuesday were the least swollen and least red days, but today i woke up and the entire hoop was filled with just my swollen lobe. it might have something to do with the fact that the hoop turned in my sleep, but it's been bothering me. my right ear doesn't look as bad, but theres a tiny bump under the hole and its very sore when i touch it, and it has bloody colored crust around the hole, which i cleaned up. i might be overreacting, but what harm is there in asking. i have been following all of the aftercare instructions and i don't touch it hardly except when i'm cleaning it.

Is my ear piercing infected?

ok i got my second holes done at the end of june/early july and i took them out a couple weeks ago to clean them and put them back in, now one earring i think is irritated because i have been really bad about cleaning them. (i no i no its bad dont preach to me). now i dont really have the signs of an infection its just like it hurts but only to the touch, and when i move it around i see white liquid stuff come out. i twirl it every day and i just noticed the white stuff today. is it infected?? should i take it out?? if i just clean it regularly it should clear up right??

plz help im scared!

Is my tongue piercing infected if the bottom hole is white around it and a bit red and it stings when I push the bar up to touch the bottom?

I'm not a piercer...so I wouldn't know for sure. But I'm thinking your tongue piercing might be very irritated because of the amount your playing with it and how your playing with it. The white your seeing, is a healing layer at the hole. That's your tongue trying to heal itself. But it's strange that it's on the bottom. Is there anything on the top of your tongue piercing? Is your tongue still pretty swollen? How is it doing overall. The reason I ask is because it will give a decent idea of your situation. But if it was me...I'd still get it checked out by a piercer..
