Is The Solution Of -2x =-15 Greater Than Or Less Than -15 Explain.

I need help with a math problem it is: write the solution set using interval notation. 5>x and x>7?

if you're talking about x defined on the set of real numbers (or even on integers in this case) then the answer is easy to express with set notation.

this is important: keep in mind that the answer is not one particular value of X. its a set of possible values for x that logically satisfies both of the conditions given. so you're right to think there is no X that is both less than 5 and greater than 7. but thats not what is being asked. the question is asking for the set that satisfies the two conditions given.

the first condition is satisfied by all the numbers less than 5. that means negative infinity all the way up to 5, but not including 5. we can write that interval like this:

(-inf, 5)

this is an interval that satisfies the first condition with a set of X's.

the second condition is satisfied by all the numbers greater than 7. that means 7 (not included) all the way up to positive infinity. we can write that interval like this:

(7, inf)

this is an interval that satisfies the second condition with a different set of X's.

now you need to form a set that satisfies BOTH conditions. this can be achieved by a Union of sets, which is equivalent to the english word OR. the symbol for Union looks like an upper cased U.

your answer should look like this, it is a solution set that satisfies the conditions:

(-inf, 5)U(7, inf)

translating that notation into a sentence of english it would read like this

"all the numbers from negative infinity up to but not including 5, OR, all the numbers from but not including 7 up to infinity."

HELP PLEASE?!?! 15pts Explain how a radiosonde can be used to predict future weather conditions in a location.?

Radiosondes return temperature...humidity...and pressure data which can be used to to determine levels where clouds are likely to form...the depth of existing clouds...whether the general motion is up (destabilizing) or down (stabilizing)...locating levels of wind shear...and static stability.

Please explain me tire size 33x15.50R16?

When does an absolute value equation have no solution?

My teacher said that an absolute value equation has no solution when it equals to a negative...for example:
|x + 5| = -4

What if the equation looks like the following...would it be "no solution"?

5 | 6 - 5x | = 15x - 35

(the fact that the absolute value would equal to an equation with subtraction makes me think that the - 35 part is a negative and that it is automatically considered a "no solution" problem....)

Is the density of 1.00 L of water greater than, less than, or equal to the density of 1.00 quart of water?

Density is the ratio of mass to volume of a substance, and is characteristic of a substance. In other words the density is not affected by how much of a substance is present. The density of water is 1g/ml, whether you have a liter of it or a quart of it. Therefore, they are equal.

Another way to look at it is this. The liter of water has more volume, but also has more mass. So when you divide m/v the value is the same as the m/v of the quart of water.

What is the Republican solution to American mass shootings?

One solution is for Democrats to propose something specific that will work. But we don’t hear about any specific solutions, just a bunch of grandstanding and shouts of “do something!” and “guns are bad!” Rather than a shouting match and the political blame game, let’s have a conversation about a specific proposal and debate its merits and drawbacks, and let’s do it fast.Another solution is to put armed guards in vulnerable places and stop touting these “gun-free zones.” Putting metal detectors and armed guards in public schools is a good solution, I think. We take more security measures at protecting money in banks than children in schools. As a conservative, I agree that Republican politicians are completely useless when it comes to passing meaningful gun legislation. I also think that Democrats are equally useless. Why? Because neither side will compromise. Both sides are content with grandstanding and blaming each other and being completely inflexible and dishonest about what they really want. By the way they argue their case, it seems like most progressives don’t just want “reasonable gun laws,” but to work up to full-scale gun confiscation. Conservatives are actually mostly okay with the way things are and would be willing to compromise more as long as they are convinced it will actually work.Right now, the best solution seems to be providing more immediate protection to students with, as I said, armed guards and metal detectors.

Why Cu+ is not stable in aqueous solution?

When copper(I) compounds are dissolved in water, the copper I ions will disproportionate into blue copper II ions and copper atoms that appear as a brown coating on the bottom of the container. Others have explained this in terms of electronic structure and hydration enthalpy of the two ions. Instead I will focus on its spontaneity using standard electrical potentials. The disproportionation requires both oxidizing and reducing the copper I:Cu+(aq) → Cu2+(aq) + e- -0.16VCu+(aq) + e- → Cu(s) +0.52VThe overall reaction is: 2 Cu+(aq) → Cu2+(aq) + Cu(s) with a potential of 0.52V - 0.16V = 0.36V. The positive total indicates a reaction that occurs spontaneously.Note that copper I can be complexed with ammonia or an excess of chloride ion to stabilize it in aqueous solutions.

How do you translate "40 is less than or equal to a number and -20"?

40...............≤......................... .............+..........-20

40 ( less than or equal ) to ( a number ) and...... -20

(and) is the same thing as (+) because when you say 3 and 2 = 5 and is used like +

40 ≤ n + -20

THE ANSWER TO THIS EQUATION IS

60 ≤ n or n ≥ 60
it doesnt matter the way is written 60 is always going to be smaller than n

Inflation is when you pay fifteen dollars for the ten-dollar haircut you [...] ? can someone explain it?

very simple.. imagine this:

you're 20 and have a head full of hair
haircut price: $10

you're 35: some hair loss
haircut price: $11

and so on...

until..

now you're 55: little to no hair
haircut price: $15

the quality of the haircut and your standards etc have not changed

basically if you lose the example

a *sustained upwards* trend in price levels

the good (or service) is exactly the same but you're paying more now than u did say in 1990.
