Is There A Chance Of Severe Storms/floods In Houston

How long would it take to drive from Houston, Texas to Los Angeles, California?

Do IT!!! I moved out here from Austin about 6 years ago. I hate the cost of living, but nothing beats the weather out here!! I grew up in Houston, trust me, I UNDERSTAND you completely!!! I'll trade the possibility of an earthquake any day over the mosquito infested, humid swamp heat, hurricane, hail, monsoonal, flash flood or drought or my fav Tornado threatend weather that houston has to offer!!

As for drive time. It will take you 2 days. Day one from houston to El paso with take about 10-12 hours along the I-10. Or you can take a more scenic option and go 10 to hwy 71 towards austin, then west on the 290 until it meets up again with the 10. It might take a bit longer, but the route really is pretty. On day two It's El Paso, all the way to LA. again, straight along the 10, or the scenic route which involves getting off the 10 at lordsburg NM, and taking hwy 70 all the way to pheonix. It is a spectacular route that takes you through the Tonto national forest, and apache reservation, and cotton fields in Pima, I highly recommend it. It will take about 12 hours. the scenic route is shorter in distance but you loose time going though towns.

One more thing, if you really are prepared for the cost of living shock, then you need to keep driving all the way to a beach city..DO NOT STOP IN LA. In the summer, Los angeles, and especially the valley areas are JUST as hot and miserable as Texas, then add the wild fires, and mudslides, and it's just gross. The beach towns all have average temps of 70 YEAR ROUND!! can you believe it!! wearing sweaters in the evening in summer time!! yes. And NO mosquitos by the beach!!! none. ALso, We don't have A/C units by the beach either!! can you imagine living somewhere where you don't need AC. You'll Love it!! do it!!

Is there any severe thunderstorm or hurricane in Orlando, Florida?

Storms in Florida are a daily occurance. They can pop up quickly and disapate quickly too. No hurricane's in site. Check the weather channel for updated informtion or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association. They will have the current weather maps and hurricane/tropical storm warnings.

If a category 5 hurricane were to hit Houston, Texas and go up towards Dallas, would there be issues?

Like I live in the Dallas, Texas area. I really love weather, and I plan to go to college and study meteorology and become a meteorologist.

Well I have always wondered what would occur here in the dallas area if a cat. 5 hurricane were to hit Texas and go straight up to the Dallas area... Would there be a possibility for it to go over dallas as a hurricane and not just a tropical depression?

What do yall think?
