Is There Anything I Can Do To Start Public Schooling Again

Should I start public school in the 11th grade?

I am currently in the 10th grade and will be going into the 11th next year. I've been homeschooled my whole life but I am kinda wanting to try public school. Would it be weird to tart in the 11th grade not knowing anyone? Or should I just stay being homeschooled?

Which is harder, Homeschooling or Public School?

If your daughter isn't fitting in the public school plan, homeschooling may well be a great choice.

No, it isn't difficult to help your child learn. Homeschooling can be a wonderful experience.

Contact a local homeschool support group for info on laws and what support is in your area.

Good luck :D

How do you prepare to go back to public school after being homeschooled for three years? How do I get used to getting up early and being around people again?

If I were getting my child ready to go back to public school after being homeschooled for several years, I’d start mimicking as closely as possible the experience of being in a classroom. I’d enforce getting up early enough to get “ready” for school (dress, eat, etc.) and at the time the local public school started, I’d have us starting “school”. I’d make it far more structured. Each subject being 45 minutes or so in length and an approximately 20-minute lunch. If the kids get a recess, I’d incorporate that as well. Then I would end the day at the time the public school ends. I’d do this for as long as reasonably possible prior to going back to the school. That should help you get into some kind of rhythm in terms of times, getting up early, spending x amount of time on any one subject, and so on. I’d also start giving my child some work correlating to the subjects we’d worked on that day that they were required to do before we started things over again the next day - studying for spelling tests, writing assignments, reading assignments, and on. (aka Homework)Some people homeschool like it’s school, just at home, and if this is how your family practiced homeschooling, it should be somewhat easier for you. If your family followed a more “unschooling” type of model, I think your adaptation to public school would be more jarring. I’d see if I could get a schedule that would reflect, to some degree, what to expect when you returned to school. The social part is going to be the “harder” part, depending on your personal homeschool experiences and your personality type. My hope for you is that you live in a fairly rich homeschooling community that has provided you with some social opportunities. Getting used to being around people again will be harder, but you’ll adjust, just as you adjusted to homeschooling.I wish you all the best in your transition.

Homeschooling vs. Public School?

Can anyone give me some pros and cons on both homeschooling and public schooling. My list is short and is making it very difficult to decide what to do for next year. I need to know what to do soon so that I know to switch.

Should I go to public school or stay homeschooled?

Public school definitely

Look kid, once you go to high school next year, things will change. It'll be easier with the "popular girls". Also, since you're not getting a social life, I would go with public.

There are more pros than cons

Why you should not be homschooled

NO MOTIVATION: BAD! You need to be motivated and that's what teachers are for

NO SOCIALIZING: NO-NO! You need to socialize and have friends or you're going to be lonely and ever MORE less-motivated. I have been in this situation before. I have been homeschooled for 5 yrs, no socializing, just sat at home and I wasn't motivated.

Plus just ignore the popular girls.

Plus, people will like you for who you are! Scene doesn't mean posing!

Since you hate homeschooling, go back to school!

Being original and being scene is fun!

Is it time to bring back Segregation in our Public Schools?

look at how badly our public schools have degraded since the troublemakers have been allowed to destroy the classroom? America used to have the best public schools on earth - better than Japan, Finland, Norway, S. Korea..EVERYONE. Now, after 40 years of a zoo-like atmosphere, our schools are about on par with African schools.
